CJ, congratulations on a compelling and very different story. A period such as that of Norse exploration and settlement, for which there is little written history, is certainly intriguing. This story is quite a departure from your other work and I appreciate your skills and the effort you put into your stories all the more. No reader could help but notice a parallel in this story to a widely discussed topic of today - climate change. Global cooling can be as frightening as global warming. Humanity - except for a few stranded in inhospitable places - has always survived both. I also noted a small reference to yourself personally - and perhaps a plea to your most avid fans. The Greenland Norse did not die out until they had eaten the last of their goats. Thanks for the good read.

I like your theory more than anything I can come up with. It would require a head shot to take out Dimitri. If Brandon still has his finger on the trigger when someone else takes a shot, he might reflexively fire his shotgun. Let's hope not or that he misses Eric. Also, there is an air force officer near the house. Most air force officers wouldn't normally carry a sidearm in the US, but he is an investigator, the military is on alert, and everyone else at the ranch is armed.

Well...no surprise. There is a cliffhanger here. This is quite a chapter...plenty of action...definitely not material for a chick flick. The action is fast and split-second decisions are entirely too slow. The next chapter will be a little slow arriving, too. CJ says about 10 days with the summer anthology due Sunday. I could say more , but don't want to spoil anyone's reading.

Welcome, fellow Domaholic. It's been a long dry spell between chapter 20 and chapter 21 of ITFB. You might be interested in the Roll Call and Just Wondering forum threads if you haven't already read them. Haven't started ITFB? You must have a lot of willpower. Or, do you make it a policy to never read unfinished stories? When Dom does resume ITFB, I will go back and start with chapter 1. I have already reread TLW while waiting for ITFB 21.

I enjoyed this chapter, Steve. I know everyone has his own problems, but it seems all the characters in Chapter 6 have rather serious problems (with the possible exception of Saul). I hope all their problems are resolved satisfactorily in future chapters...especially Cody's.

Another very interesting chapter, Dan. Worthington is proving to be a real leader and is expanding his influence. Organizing mages will likely prove to be an important step in fighting the demons.

Another great chapter, CJ. It was inevitable that Dimitri and Barney would meet up. . I still find it hard to believe that Dimitri won't give up his quest to kill Instinct. It serves no purpose in the Scar's scheme and puts him in considerable danger.
