  1. Writer's block is awful (*sends virtual hug*). Glad to hear you're ready to write some more!
  2. Now is early Fall and I've found myself having many of these same thoughts as I watch nature's life wane - but wow, this poem puts it so much better. My favorite line is about Necropolis being our life's pilgrimage town... it makes me wonder. Is it a ruined city we'll find when we get there, or a beautiful Utopia?
  3. Thanks, Gary! My pillow has tried to kill me a couple times now, generating nightmares in the process.
  4. *whew!* I was afraid it would suck. thanks for the review!
  5. I was all al like, ooh, such a cool dream - then the jeans. wat. Either way, amazing job - having just tried to make one of these, I can appreciate the effort that goes into making it!
  6. Nightmare The city calls forth a mirage of smoke. Streets are traps of labyrinthine darkness. The wind blows, as if whispering madness or stirring the folds of a nighttime cloak. It’s useless to try and escape the yoke Binding me now to this awful blackness. I’m lost while the Earth spins on its axis Trapped till the time of the night clock’s last stroke. Suddenly, timid, a glimmer of light Beckoning fleetingly, a silent plea Offers to free me from this endless night. I just have
  7. Wow, right in the feels. 'Trapped in rain' is such a beautiful image, too.
  8. Apologies if the story is getting too freaky. I guess I haven't shaken off the Halloween vibe yet!
  9. I wouldn't keep my fingers crossed…
  10. It's been great fun so far to write each chapter and give free rein to my - admittedly - somewhat twisted imagination, lol.
  11. Nice! this is a great example of how powerful imagery can be created in just a few lines.
  12. just what I was going for! Yay - I might not be hopeless at this poetry thing, after all.
  13. The Field Flowers bloom in a wash of ephemeral beauty like cautious youth, awkward, gone so quickly and yet - The memory of a kiss, stolen, remains. A sweet thrill of hope, and love that might have been.

    The Proposition

Chapter 5 Max didn’t say what his proposition was, not right away. Instead, he had his butler Terrence take me to the room that had originally been mine, that night I had tried to escape. “The Master wishes to speak with you tomorrow,” Terrence informed me. “In the meantime, please feel free to do as you wish. If you need anything, just let me know.” He left, walking down the hall without even looking back. I opened the door to my room and realized it was just as luxurious as I remembered

    The Pact

Thanks! I've always admired the Native American worldview, and I totally had to write a story inspired by it.

Gee, thank you! I personally enjoy slow, creepy tales, so I guess I tried to emulate that subconsciously

    Conditioning

Chapter 4 The next few days followed a predictable routine. I would be left alone in the dark for what felt like hours at a time, only to be startled by the whistling sound which inevitably preceded the delivery of food into my cell. After the first few repetitions, I noticed that the amount of time between deliveries was roughly the same, and although I tried not to, I began to anticipate them with intensity that bordered on insane. They were the only break from the monotony, the painful da

    The Pact

Thank you for reviewing! I wanted to show a different kind of strength in this story, the strength of determination that a parent needs to have in the face of adversity. Adding the creepiness to the mix was irresistible.

Wow, thanks! I think I have a love/hate relationship with spiders, and it kind of showed through when I wrote this.
