    Chapter 23

Lucinius has then baller as his most loyal customer. Lucinius charges a reasonable fee and p[rovide a good product. He will have the b baker as a loyal customer. I doubt Appias will ever agree to making peace with Apollo

    Chapter 23

You are a very bad visionary. Actually when the boys worked they didn't wear the good tunics. Hmmmm thinking about that you may not have been far from the truth. I'm sure the boys would shed their 'tunic' rather than get them soiled.

    Chapter 23

Ih Duccius discussed the Senate's business with Lucinius he will do well.

    Chapter 21

My bad. One of my readers asked a question and I knew that I had addressed that in my book. So I went back and reviewed the scroll, and sure enough I somehow missed that section.

    Chapter 21

Thank you Miles. Yes, I also prefer a red wine. I'm glad you are enjoying my story. You do know it is fiction don't you or maybe it isn't fiction. Lucinius comes to me in my dreams and tells me these stories. 😀

    Chapter 22

Hello Tony, yes all is well. I'm glad to see you back commenting. We are fortunate that there is a lot of literature available concerning early Rome. We would have had more if the Library wasn't destroyed. I'm sure you know people who are closed minded, you can't tell them anything, they know it all. Lucinius has an open mind, he is willingl to listen to any idea and encourages his boys to freely offer their opinions and suggestions. I would've loved to live on his Villa.

    Chapter 22

Yes, the tip off is the color of the ink. Normally the color of the ink was black except these scrolls the ink was brown.

    Chapter 22

Hmmmmm. What that brings to mind.

    Chapter 22

They are learning. Being blessed by Apollo, they are bound to succeed. Merchants be aware.

    Chapter 22

I think I have created a monster. Your feeling for Appias has come though your comments. Although I don't blame you. Mars, his god, is a god of war, a god of destruction, that is why he doesn't get the results that Lucinius does.

    Chapter 22

Yes, we didn't invent swindlers, where ever there were merchants, you can bet some were swindlers.

    Chapter 22

I have never heard of the sixth press so I'll let you draw your own conclusion. What ever the future is for Lucinius you can be sure it will be a success.

    Chapter 22

You know Lucinius's secret, that underground watering system. To bad Appias didn't learn anything from staying at Lucinius's Villa.

    Chapter 22

It seems everything Lucinius does, he is a success. I doubt his father will say anything. and if he finds out it comes from Lucinius there will. be something wrong with it.

    Chapter 23

Duccius went home upon arriving in the city, he had the deer to prepare. One of his hunting partners told him he could salt the meat and it would keep. “I’ll see you before I leave.” We went to the baker who bought my wheat and oats. When he saw us, his first words, “What do you have to sell. It’s too early for wheat and oats.” Laughing, “I have olive oil that is my third press. Are you interested?” He went and got some bread, tasted each of the tubs. “Is this all you have?”

    Chapter 22

The boys moved the press to the grove. "Sir, how does this work." "I think you put the olives in here, and then when you rotate this wheel, the olive get's crushed, and the oil runs here where you can collect it in a jar. I think with this one, you need a pitcher, and then you pour it into a jar." "What do we do with the part that isn't oil?" "When we no longer can get oil, we'll see if the animals will eat it. If not, we'll use it in the gardens." "Maybe Felix can find a way

    Chapter 21

The boys are really working hard. crops are good, trees are full of fruit, and the grapes will be ready to make wine.

    Chapter 20

There wouldn't be a reason to purchase his grandfather's villa in the south. In all probability, Lucinius will inherit Gaius's home His grandfather's Villa in the south is more than three days away.

Yes, and the blogs. Even the comments on the stories.

    Chapter 21

Yes, they built those carts to haul cement, bricks, etc. The romans were masters at building sturdy equipment of the time.

    Chapter 21

You are welcome. I enjoyed my mother's father more than my dad's. My dad's father preferred my brother who was named after him. I'm always amazed how names affects people. It seems if they like the name , you're in. If they don't you're out. Strange the way we humans think
  23. CLJobe

    Chapter 21

Yes, now we shall see what quality they will get from their pressing of the olives
  24. CLJobe

    Chapter 21

Yep, but he doesn't get as much for the produce on this trip. Later when he sells out of the cart, he will get more since his produce will be fresh.

    Chapter 20

Yes, iff I had to pick I'd pick Lucinius. I always preferred brains over brawn
