  1. That's great! I'm glad things are good for you. And now, it's been a long day... time to hit the hay.. have to be up at 7:30am.. ugh.. football (soccer) game. Night all!
  2. i'm too thin.. however if i keep eating like i did tonight, that'll change lol But it's rare for me to eat so much. Michael and Dan often try to feed me more. If they give me a donut i'll eat that anytime. lol
  3. i am still full ... no seconds for me.. i did have apple crisp with vanilla bean hagen daz ice cream (just a scoop) but then i decided it was really necessary to eat my smallish Lindt Choc Bunny.. Frankly, i should have just left him to look at , cuz he was cute. The chocolate wasn't that great. i rather have the mini cadbury eggs. Well, live and learn. I wont get another one. Hope everyone had a good weekend.. i know @kbois didn't have the best of weekends but i hope future ones are better. ❤️
  4. That's all good. Weight comments are not required ever. And well done on not slapping anyone!
  5. Okay, leg of lamb in, apple crisp done, rutabega cooked... just need to do potatoes, brussels and carrots a little later.. also walk with Husband, done. Making our daily decaf coffee and snack now. Then i will work on my sweater a little more.. maybe get the front panel done this week. Then i will block the front and back and start on the sleeves.
  6. Sorry about to hear about the bathroom issues. However, while not for you, this is a good reminder to anyone renting a new place.. run the water, flush the toilet and turn on the shower. All that stuff should work before you move in. Honestly, the landlord should have taken care of all of this stuff. Also, check any appliances that come with your new home... they should all be in working order. I hope your landlord gets this stuff fixed for you quickly.
  7. Morning, all ... Hoppy Easter. I've come to equate Holidays with lots of work. While i love baking, big meals with lots to do is not something i love quite so much. However, there is a Lindt chocolate rabbit around here with my name on it, so there's that! LOL. Have a lovely day, everyone. I'm going to try to squeeze an hour of writing now.
  8. When in doubt chop it out ... rather like editing.
  9. Basil likes lots of water and lots of food. Maybe you could try a different variety.
  10. Oh boy.. lol i grow thyme, basil, oregano and parsley .. the thyme likes to spread, but the other three aren't so bad. But you need to pinch them back often. I see a lot of mint juleps in my future.. dried mint, and possibly gallons of mint sauce...lol
  11. Yes, i know. My mum used to grow it and you're right, it's wild. But my little kitchen garden is in pots so i'm hoping that'll keep it under some kind of control. lol
  12. Walked over to the shops with Michael. Dan has gone to visit his family. i'm feeling a bit low but i am gonna make two loaves of bread for the week and mint sauce. We used to just buy mint sauce which was great, it was just a bit of sugar, vinegar and mint but the last time we bought the same brand, we noticed they have started to thicken it. It's disgusting. i hate the texture of it so. Gonna make my own. Maybe i'll try and root some of it and add it to my little garden. It was busy and i didn't fancy walking to the dollar store to grab a sympathy card.. so i found one in Metro for only $8.99. Really? Hmm.. maybe time to see about doing that myself too. i'm tired of being ripped off for everything. Right, make bread and mint sauce.
  13. i can see how that could be both good and bad.
  14. Michael says i should just get things i want even if He can't eat them, but i can't do that. He says i shouldn't think that way, but i do. Crazy i guess. Do you eat them in front of your husband?
  15. I have to get some sympathy cards today. A dear friend's father passed away last night. He was 96 and had lived a very full life. He'd been in and out of hospital for the past year, so i suppose you could see it coming. Still, it's sad for our friend and her mom. I can't imagine life without Michael, let alone someone who I had been with for 70+ years. She said in her email, life has to go on ... yes it does but ... i don't always have to like it.
  16. Oh, I've not seen those. I will have a look! Maybe a treat is in order. (That sounds like I never have a treat, which is, of course, nonsense. I have them all the time.)
  17. Just chocolate for the little ones .. i haven't had a creme egg for a couple of years...but i love them.
  18. That's good.. sorry it's been hard. Glad you got moved. i know unpacking isn't too exciting either.
  19. i wasn't keen on the micro version .. i like the mini version though.
  20. i have a terrible sweet tooth.. Cadbury and Laura Secords creme eggs.. oh yes please... yes! I'll have yours!
  21. Sounds like Easter/ Ostara is a very inclusive holiday...as it should be! Thanks for sharing this.
  22. Easter began as a Pagan celebration of spring, the Christians took it over and made it a religious Holiday. So i think you can celebrate it as you please. If it's to enjoy the Chocolate and time to spend with family, then enjoy all of that! Have a great weekend everyone!
  23. One guy i listen to said to try and look toward the sun.. not at it, of course, but in its direction for about five minutes. Worth a shot and cheaper than drugs!
