Oh boy.. lol i grow thyme, basil, oregano and parsley .. the thyme likes to spread, but the other three aren't so bad. But you need to pinch them back often. I see a lot of mint juleps in my future.. dried mint, and possibly gallons of mint sauce...lol

Yes, i know. My mum used to grow it and you're right, it's wild. But my little kitchen garden is in pots so i'm hoping that'll keep it under some kind of control. lol

Walked over to the shops with Michael. Dan has gone to visit his family. i'm feeling a bit low but i am gonna make two loaves of bread for the week and mint sauce. We used to just buy mint sauce which was great, it was just a bit of sugar, vinegar and mint but the last time we bought the same brand, we noticed they have started to thicken it. It's disgusting. i hate the texture of it so. Gonna make my own. Maybe i'll try and root some of it and add it to my little garden. It was busy and i didn't fancy walking to the dollar store to grab a sympathy card.. so i found one in Metro for only $8.99. Really? Hmm.. maybe time to see about doing that myself too. i'm tired of being ripped off for everything. Right, make bread and mint sauce.

i can see how that could be both good and bad.

Michael says i should just get things i want even if He can't eat them, but i can't do that. He says i shouldn't think that way, but i do. Crazy i guess. Do you eat them in front of your husband?

I have to get some sympathy cards today. A dear friend's father passed away last night. He was 96 and had lived a very full life. He'd been in and out of hospital for the past year, so i suppose you could see it coming. Still, it's sad for our friend and her mom. I can't imagine life without Michael, let alone someone who I had been with for 70+ years. She said in her email, life has to go on ... yes it does but ... i don't always have to like it.

Oh, I've not seen those. I will have a look! Maybe a treat is in order. (That sounds like I never have a treat, which is, of course, nonsense. I have them all the time.)

Good night all!

Sounds like Easter/ Ostara is a very inclusive holiday...as it should be! Thanks for sharing this.

Easter began as a Pagan celebration of spring, the Christians took it over and made it a religious Holiday. So i think you can celebrate it as you please. If it's to enjoy the Chocolate and time to spend with family, then enjoy all of that! Have a great weekend everyone!

One guy i listen to said to try and look toward the sun.. not at it, of course, but in its direction for about five minutes. Worth a shot and cheaper than drugs!

Been a good day so far.. Shrink is happy with me. The crumpet rings finally got here, and I made these. It's not nearly perfect, and i miss my convection oven, which helps to brown things. i need practice making the crosses.. but they smell nice.. lol Can't wait to try them. They are made with lemon and orange candied peel, golden and dark raisins, spices and a little splenda brown sugar.

Happy Thursday.. this one is a little hot...

The baker i follow on YouTube grinds his own whole wheat flour and has this great little electric mill. I also saw that you can get an attachment for your Kitchenaid stand mixer, which I am lucky enough to have. It was about $100. However, the flour i buy has been working fine. I have no plans to start grinding my own. Michael just gave me a look when i told Him about it. "No boy," .. so that's that. LOL I have to get going soon. I have things to do, including my monthly visit to the shrink. I hope everyone has a good day!

No, I will soak the chickpeas, cook them, and freeze them. I use them in curry and chilli. We got more because I used the last of them last night for curry. Doing them myself means I don't have to buy cans; they're just as convenient and have no salt or preservatives. I freeze them in one—or two-cup amounts.

Happy Wednesday. Today, we are off to the bulk store to buy dates, raisins, chickpeas, oats, glace cherries, and mixed peel. It's time for Hot Cross buns! Amazon has still been unable to deliver the crumpet rings I ordered, but they say they are on the way. I don't know. Anyway, I'll get some at some point. For today, remember:

Food is a great motivator. lol

Wow, these days of the week are getting a bit unruly. Some discipline could be required! Currently, I am compiling some pieces for a character to play on piano: Chopin - ballade #1 Debussy - clair du lune Tchaikovsky - Waltz of the flowers Ravel - Pavane Pour Une Infante Défunte Mozart - 12 Variations on "Ah, vous dirai-je maman" (twinkle twinkle little star) These will do nicely.

Happy Tuesday. Hopefully, Tuesday heard about the abuse you gave to Monday and has decided it would be prudent to fall into line. Maybe. Priorities: 1. Walk everyday 2. Bake bread at least once a week 3. Eat a donut, sometimes I'm sure there are a couple of things i'm missing ... Have a great day!

i agree with you, @Kitt
