  1. Funny, since covid we haven't heard from cardboard box producers saying they are struggling. LOL

  9. OM Gosh ... So, we have this very nice cutting board, that was handmade by a friend. It sadly got wet and was left and warped pretty badly. We discussed what we could do about it. We had a look online.. some people said put weight on it others said soak it more and then weigh it down. But one said, the best thing to do is to put it on a flat surface and leave it alone for a week. We decided to try this and we looked at it last night and it was dry and perfectly flat! Amazing. Thought i'd share in case this happens to you.
  10. 1. Fog lays over the sodden ground where is the joy in this? Smile, nature is grateful for the life-giving rain Monochrome skies of gray can bring melancholy, yet trees and grass are vivid green and umbrellas bob in colour Find solace on rainy days close your eyes and rest as the world drinks and is quenched and renewed 2. There is joy in little things like the pretty stone you found take comfort from the gentle rain as soft as
  11. Walmart Delivery, while free, is stupid. We ordered 2 x toilet paper, 2x paper towel and a package of napkins. Why is this being delivered by two companies? On two different days? Insane. Fed Ex is bring the TP and PT and some other courier the napkins. i need to rest now ...
  12. It's okay to be prickly... here's a book about it:
  13. Happy... oh.. wait It's Tuesday.. Happy Tuesday. This one is true ... i've had some very i'm-not-lovable days... hopefully today ain't one of 'em! Have a great day!!
  14. i'm a little late.. have my head buried in a story ... Happy Monday
  15. That's a great idea.. i am not a fan of cooked zucchini, but i like it raw and it would be great in this salad. Brilliant idea!!
  16. That's great. Our folks in Newfoundland and other maritime provinces here in Canada are of UK descent. They speak a dialect all their own. I had a character whose family was from there and they went home to visit the Rock. Writing that dialect was fun (and approved by a native from NFLD). Thanks for sharing how you feel. Makes it all worthwhile.
  17. Haha, right? Midsomer Murders has been on since March '97. It seems like a terrible place to live! But justice always prevails.
  18. I think we need all foods (good ones, not potato chips so much) and probably less meat. Michael, my Husband is diabetic so our diet is fairly low carb. (Except on Friday when I go out with our other husband, Dan. We'll usually have a donut and coffee while out...our treat of the week.)
  19. I think we'll try your lovely salad. Cucumbers are not easy on a couple of us, but we could replace them with sweet peppers, I think. I'm happy with non-meat meals, but I live with a couple of Bears (polar and grizzly) who would eat it but would need meat on the side.
  20. I love this. I did worry about the 'foreignness' of this story after reading comments from some on GA about not wanting to look things up. I appreciate your willingness to do that. As an author, I know most of us spend hours researching to make our stories real and right. Readers like you are a pleasure to write for. Thank you, and thank you to all of you who have done the same thing.
  21. We make it here and it's expensive. But there's nothing quite like it, is there? It's worth having in the house.
  22. Lovely, thank you. It looks super. Most of us, who are not American are fine with metric.
  23. We love food here, you could provide the recipe if you're so inclined, drown!
  24. That looks nice and healthy. Are you vegan or a vegetarian?
  25. Hello @Gary L welcome to the DiC (drop in centre).. great to see you!
