Have a good day all .. it will soon be August and i will start counting down to when i will give my notice. This last week has been particularly awful. Every customer i had was from some Hell i do not want to get to in my life. More proof, leaving this job is right. Hopefully i live until the end of August.

haha.. our nephew is like that. Not sure if he's had snails but he was nonplussed when we were out a Greek restaurant and he order the snapper. The waiter brought it, the whole darned thing, fins, tail and eyes. He devoured it. Personally, no thanks. The three of us each have a sweet tooth. Michael is diabetic, so we don't go there. i sometimes bake things that are diabetic friendly however.

no sugar in our house except at xmas when i make fudge for gifts. otherwise a no no for health reasons. i don't have a health reason but i cannot eat forbidden things in front of my Husbands. However, one of them, Dan does sneak me out for cake sometimes or a donut. LOL

i don't but that's a great idea! They look delicious!!!

@Libby Drew and @George Richard Congrats to the both of you. Libby, it's a wonderful, wonderful story. I enjoyed it very much. It was very moving. I enjoyed all the stories, though i know i owe some comments on a couple of them. I'll get there. It was a great contest and a lot of fun. I hope we get a larger bunch of souls to join next time. There's nothing much to be afraid of.

This is waaay too hard. Lots of great stories. Also a fun event! I'm terrible at guessing. i like @Mrsgnomie 's idea of matching the stories to a list of authors. That would help a lot, lol. But here is my pathetic list of guesses... if i can figure out more I'll edit this list. 14,000 Days of Virtue - @Parker Owens Baring My Soul - @kbois River City - @Mancunian Searching for God - @Wayne Gray The Case of Cloud Rider - Could be @WolfM or @Valkyrie, both have written about horses, if i recall correctly. But then there's @Geron Kees Oh, okay that's it, i'm likely all wrong so I'll wait to be put out of my misery!

Makes no difference if others have been there, it's the first time for you and that's what makes it special and worthy of such a wonderful poem.

ewww ... kissed very few people before i met Michael but He has always looked after His teeth etc.

Right? My teeth are one of the banes of my existence. We are going to a new dentist now. First visit he looks in there.. you've got a lot of dental work done here. "Yes, I know" The one I've just had out was a root canal, then the crown had to be removed, then it was replaced by a resin tooth which was anchored and cemented to the next-door tooth. It was fine for a few years and then got infected, and this new guy said: It has to go. So now i still have a hole in my head.. if it wasn't right at the front, i wouldn't get it replaced. He took impressions the other day and said I'm a good candidate for the Maryland Bridge because, luckily, my bottom teeth won't bang into it. I'm sick of them all, frankly. I floss and brush them, now i use a water flosser along with the string, and when i went last for cleaning, she said, oh, add this Proxabrush .. seriously i need to go to bed 20 minutes earlier just to do all this crap. So, i don't blame you for asking for that. License to print money, sure we can fix that tooth at least 3 to 4 times! Think of the profits I'll make!

Work only for the most part. i have at least two stories that i am still trying to finish. One is at ch 22, with at least one more to go ...the other is a shorter one at about 6 chapters.. just need to finish it off. It might work for the leap of faith anthology.. see if i can get it finished and edited by then. No more dental appointments until sept 5th..so still have a hole in my head. August has a long weekend and a family reunion and then my last day will be Aug 31.

You're correct of course. Writing is the best way to improve. i think i'd better get started! i'd add reading to that as well. Read a lot. Thanks for another great article.

What a horror show to have to go through. As i read and you explained what you do with your LinkedIn profile, i asked myself the same... why didn't 'they' create their own? Maybe you're just a number of people this has been done to. Maybe 'they' are just sadistic. Sorry you had this happen.

Thank you, chris. It's sad honestly. i think if i was new and reading these i'm not so sure i'd want to post anything. Like we do this for free.. too often no one leaves a comment or even a like.. i sure dont have 87000 of them on Changes! LOL i appreciate readers like you ... i like writing and sharing.. a bit of feedback is nice .. we dont get book sales, and money to tell us how we did. all we have is you clicking like, commenting and or reviewing and readers get the benefit of our efforts and our teams' as well, sorry if that's too much to ask. Not you chris, gosh you get the prize for most faithful reader i think. There are better writers than me, i know that, it's cool. But i think i still manage to tell a good tale. That's how everyone should feel.. not be afraid to post their work.

Wow. That's incredible. i can relate re my job and entitled idiots. Sometimes the bank will pay for a debit on the cust account rather than return the item. The cust moans about the $5 handling fee. I explain it's $5 or $48 for returning. They still want the $5 back. If they ask more than once i tell them to go to the branch, where they'll get a slap in the hed and a boot out the door. Sick of these miserly, miserable people who think you owe them something. You're so right Kitt. i hope she loses your phone number and she looks at herself good and hard.. I know that's unlikely.

There were some great stories. Different levels of quality for sure. But this place isn't for professional authors. It's for everyone. i'm not directing this at you kbois, just saying generally. Some of the comments about the writer's immaturity and style etc., bothered me. If you want free online work, you can read, be quiet. If you want a professionally edited, polished publication, then put your money where your mouth is. Or maybe reach out with some generosity and offer decent, thoughtful feedback. Not sure how i feel about picking a 'winner'. i don't think that's necessary. i think it's just fun to try and figure out who wrote what, though i'm crap at it. LOL Maybe they thought they'd get more people to join in if there was a prize. But whatever, I'll be happy for whoever wins.

i like blueberries, but you could use what you like.. strawberries, peaches ... whatever fruit you want, or no fruit. oh, the pastelitos (and sound) delish... i hope you find some, or make some. Frozen puff pastry is good and easy to use.

Use sasha's oat base for the lemon bars .. that would work, just bake it a bit more before adding the cheese filling.
