Makes sense. i'm sure the hot choc has sugar, you couldn't drink it otherwise. We usually have a decaf coffee in the afternoon. i used to have to sweetner but i've stopped using anything in tea or coffee other than some milk/cream. i do have some amazing hot choc powder and i have one now and again. This stuff: It's sooooo good. Gourmet Village makes lots of diff flavours and a sugarless version. i bought a bunch of these last year to give out as xmas gifts.. i have one now and again!

Yeah. As an ex-sex worker writing about sex is an issue for me. Reading about or talking about casual sex with strangers ... it makes me cringe. Here my personal experience defo affects my work. i've written sex scenes but it's a chore at the best of times but i've done it because the story called for it. Often i'm happy just using the fade-to-black option, or just closing the bedroom door. Thanks for another worthwhile article!

i had trouble reading this in one go. There's a lot of telling happening in this story, meaning lots of details are dumped on the page. It's not bad, but it's hard to read for some. Me being one of those. However, i came back to it several times and I'm glad that i did. This was a story of acceptance, patience and ultimately love. Nice job, SA.

i only made one iced coffee this year so far ... coffee has been bothering my delicate stomach..lol so i don't drink much of it now. And i don't drink any caffeine for the first hour after i wake up, only water if anything. but I'm glad you're still enjoying your icy treat!!

When i was thrown out, i wasn't quite old enough to drive. Never learned. Never met a Trace until much later. But he did save me. Another well-written piece. Much much, much too close to home. @kbois is right, some sunshine would be nice. But some things need saying, doing that brings them into the light, so everyone can see them. Secret Author is bringing out a lot of secrets assuming people are writing what they know. And as @Bill W says, you could certainly continue this and put Bill and the rest of us out of misery! Great piece, thank you.

That would be better .. their winters are usually 59F to 75F .. i could manage that but when it's hot there it gets hotter than here. There is no paradise on Earth, though @Wayne Gray may disagree, in which case we should all move to Northern California. Bring yer rain boots though!

i think we had a huge connection when we met. But some things have happened that many split up over. Humans screw up. We had to decide whether the years we'd put in were worth losing. They weren't. And so we carried on together, and we made it work. Even soulmates who are.. need to tend their relationship. Thank you for reading and your comments!

Difficult to hide the characters' truths as this type of story has been done before. However, the twist and Tom were welcome and different. Nice piece. Thank you.
