  1. This is what it should look like. This has been knit in a lighter yarn that what i have atm. I will get some of this it is DK or Light or 3. Mine is 4 -Worsted weight. But i want to learn how to do this. I will order some of this dk yarn. This piece has also been steam blocked. I'm enjoying learning this. For those who rather crochet you can do this in crochet also, but you need to learn tapestry crochet. Which doesnt look that bad.
  2. just white and gray.. The pattern is by Arne and Carlos.. called Ice Rose
  3. Great review Parker, thank you. Wayne is a talented author and this story was an experiment he challenged himself with. It worked brilliantly.
  4. This is what i'm doing ... it's a stranded colour work block. it's about halfway done. It's not the best picture ...
  5. I hope everyone has a nice Monday... i am working on some stranded colour work.
  6. Thanks everyone!! We had our Thanksgiving meal yesterday.. since there's only us, we roasted a chicken, had some mashed cauliflower, buttercup squash, brussel sprouts, rutabega, bit of stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce and a low sugar pecan pie.
  7. There are tons of gnome making vids on youtube .. all different.. one i saw was just socks and fur.. you can add more or not.
  8. They are fun.. here.. try this:
  9. i understand this ... it's like being captive. I had to start drinking decafe coffee in the afternoon. I take melatonin to help me sleep when i'll be working and cant nap. Wayne and i have been writing albeit slowly. We try to write about 100 words a day or so. Also i have taken up knitting and stuff. i needed something else to do. So far i'm enjoying it. it takes my mind off things ... i watch Arne and Carlos on YouTube. Arne is Norwegian and Carlos he is too by way of Brazil and Sweden. They have been textile and fashion designers for 20+ years. They do tutorials and podcasts.. both had Covid. They are interesting and funny. I laugh often while i listen to them. And they are interesting and have travelled the world together. They have helped keep me sane lately. They knit, crochet, sew, cook, talk about history of Norwegian design and all sorts. If you need a little brightness, tune in. Sit and Knit for a Bit are their latest podcasts. You can simply sit in awe of Arne who has knitted etc. since he was a little boy. He is amazing to watch. I've never seen anyone knit or crochet that quickly. I figure if Ronnie Wood of the rolling stones can knit ... so can i. Maybe this isnt for you.. but consider doing something if you can. Origami, sewing, paint by number, try drawing, buy some ready made wooden ornaments and paint them. Make something. i am thinking about dragging out the sewing machine. i'm not sure why Michael had one .. likely his mom gave it to him. LOL I've never asked Him, but i will. Creating something, makes me feel like i am alive.
  10. That's amazing ... i hope he got lots of honks xo
  11. I hope you all are okay and have a good day. xo
  12. Take it easy and rest. I hope you enjoy the book. It's supposed to be scary, but i don't find it scary. Just really interesting and well done.
  13. i'm tired of home as well ... i can't write... the odd poem but nothing like i used to. It's like it's March and April again. I hate our apartment. We do walk but we are ALWAYS here. We are not getting on each other's nerves however, so that's good. I have started watching youtube, which i rarely have done. Now.. i watch dog rescues and Arne and Carlos (they are gay, funny, smart and talented) I could watch them for hours. But i try to limit myself. I have been reading too ... right now reading a really fascinating book called Into the Out Of ... i really like it. @Wayne Gray recommended it and i found it for my kindle. I really like it a lot. I have others to read as well. I finished the Bill Hodges series (Mr. Merecedes, Finders Keeper and End of Watch). Read the books, don't bother with the TV series... the first one was amazing, really well done.. that's when the goodness ended.. the next two parts had almost NOTHING to do with the actual books or story. It was beyond rewritten. I was so disappointed .... Great actors. Brendan Gleeson and Harry Treadaway , Holland Taylor, Justine Lupe... but they just ruined a perfectly good story.
  14. Right. But that ain't gonna happen, not for a long time, if at all. We are being told again, not to go out as our cases are spiking again here.
  15. i think @Wayne Gray and i will actually talk about our story today ... not sure about writing it. COVID19 has a LOT to answer for.
  16. Have a good day everyone ...
  17. It's a beautiful idea and a wonderful poem. I don't have much faith in humanity anymore though.
  18. Nice to see you back, Rex. i hope you're well. I've read stories where you know up front who it is, or where you're told at the end but you keep guessing until that moment. They can all be effective. You're a good writer and i think it's a fairly safe bet, the story however you choose to write it, will be a good one.

  22. In my windowless room I pace, While the atomic clock ticks on the wall I feel time running down my face, Dripping, heedless and wasted to the floor Puddles of the past mirror the present And those I love walk away Their devotion riddled with caveats and obsession As my mind, on crystal legs, totters this day Voices from inside whisper and laugh Not even the best of pills can save me I am the dead now, within these smooth walls Where only th
