The Drop In Centre 3

It's too hot here and then too cold here. We don't have fire ants, but we have coyotes, foxes, deer (fairly rare but Michael's seen one in our old apartment complex in Scarborough), and the usual bugs like mosquitos. Climate change is everywhere i think. Certainly, we get more hotter days than we did when i was a kid and so much less snow. Canadians are described as wanting to be indoors in both summer and winter. LOL. Though if i had to choose, winter over summer, i'd choose winter. I like a good sweater and snuggling up with my hot Husband (Michael wears t-shirts and shorts all year round) ... Danny is of medium heat. LOL -

Well, we just watched Jurassic Park World Rebirth... oh, so bad. However, Mahershala Ali, was so so good considering what he had to work with. If you have not seen him in Green Book, go find it and watch it. A terrific film. Though some found it controversial. But I digress, with respect JPWR, dinos are okay. The mutants - dumb. The usual family with cute kid, miserable teens and dear old dopey dad are dull and boring as is the cutesy little baby dino. At least had popcorn and we were at home. They need to stop making these. Just stop it. The first one was good, but it was nowhere near the book. That would scare the pants off you but would not get the old family rating that brings in the extra buck from cute merch. Okay. I'm done now. But do watch Green Book. -

Doesn't your VISA/MasterCard offer protection against fraud? i worked for VISA for a good number of years, and they certainly offered fraud protection. The bank that issues your credit card should be able to confirm, if you cannot find the info on their website. -

Tuesday. Hope it's a good one. Woke up with a stinking headache myself. Not my fav way to start a day. Could be the poor air quality we've had for the last few days. At least we get badness one thing at a time. The humidity has been lower but we have poor air to breath. Yay. Anyway. Onwards and upwards. Have a good one. -

Interesting... i had an Iranian friend and they made their 'celebration' rice .. basmati first cook in the usual way.. then it's drained...oil added to the pot and rice put back until the bottom was crispy.. omg it was so good. i find these similarities in cooking and food interesting. -

Yeah all that kinda prep make dinner faster. I make my own stock. I keep chicken parts and roast them in the air fryer, then i add all the bits of veg i've saved in the freezer and make stock. I do get tired of cooking but mostly i like it. I love making bread and desserts as well. -

Some yummy looking stuff on there. I do like @mollyhousemouse. Buy a few chicken thighs and marinate and freeze them, cut up chicken breast into chunks and freeze in smaller portions to stir-fry. See if you can buy frozen stir-fry veggies. If you make a small batch of chili, freeze one or two portions. I take bell peppers, wash them, cut them in half from the stem down, clean them out and then i take grated carrots and sliced onions and sauté them until soft. Put the pepper halves in a freezable container... pile on the carrots and onions and freeze. Michael and Dan thought i was crazy for doing that. It's an old WW2 recipe from my grandmother. When they did not have much to stuff them with. You can freeze the peppers without cooking them first. They will be soft when you take them out. I let them defrost and then heat them in the toaster oven or air fryer. Michael and Dan love them, and they are a great side dish. I usually do 10 peppers, but you don't have to make that many. Two or three peppers will give you four or six portions. I'm sure molly and i can give you more ideas if you need them... lol -

This man. Lots of information about childhood trauma and how to stop being a victim in your own life. I've heard Dr. Maté before. If you struggle, listen to him, read his books ... he can help. -

Can 2 minutes really change your health? Science says yes. Research shows that short, 1-2 minute bursts of movement—like climbing stairs or doing jumping jacks—can improve your heart health, metabolism, insulin sensitivity, and mood. One study even showed that 3 bouts of 1-2 minutes of exercise per day could reduce mortality by 38%–40%. We call these microworkouts. And we recommend building up to 3, 2-10 minute microworkouts per day for maximum benefit. For example: Do modified wall push-ups while your coffee brews in the morning. Do 20 squats before using the bathroom midday. Do 2 minutes of jumping jacks before eating dinner in the evening. Here’s how you can get started today: Choose an exercise you can do for 1 minute, like squats or marching in place. Plan to do this exercise before or after a daily habit. Add it to your calendar for extra accountability. Noom's paid experiences include a Noom Move feature with thousands of workouts, as short as 5 minutes. You can filter by time, intensity, and type of activity to find workouts to meet your needs. *****Noom keeps asking Danny back... sadly if you leave there's no place to tell them you're happy and lost the weight you wanted to; that there is nothing wrong. I liked the sound of this if you're having problems getting going with exercise.. this is a good place to start. -
