  1. You can eat A donut. One. Determine what calories you need in a day and once in a while have a donut. Eat right 98% of the time and enjoy a donut. It's okay. Danny lost 30lbs doing this. You can do it. Danny used Noom. I liked that program myself. I enjoyed the advice and learning that it offered. Get some exercise and lift weights a few times a week. You do not need to do hours and hours of exercise.. unless you're nuts like @Wayne Gray. This advice comes from my Husband: eat right most of the time and lift a bit.. increase your reps and weights every few weeks. You do not have to be a body builder.
  2. It is lovely today. Lots of wishing it would just stay like this... lol
  3. You can join us all on our perpetual diets.. Today my grocery cart held, fresh pineapple, watermelon, peaches, broccoli, arugula, red onion, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, a red pepper and apples. We have one slice of toast in the morning, an egg and 1/2 an apple. Lunch is usually a salad. Dinner is protein, veggies and a bit of starch. Dessert is some fruit and maybe some crisp or a whole grain biscuit like a digestive. The most important thing is to use your spreadsheet and record your calories and weight . every day.
  4. a donut is about the only sugary thing i eat.. we all have special diets so we have to be careful. i do enjoy my double donut fridays though. lol have you ever checked your body fat percentage? That might make you feel better.
  5. Mean!! i just meant i loved my donut and wished it would never end.
  6. oh, you could roll around on that..lol.. Are you settled in?
  7. If you like odd stories about the paranormal, do yourself a favour and listen to this channel. I've read Peter's first book too... available on K.U. and enjoyed it.
  8. I still have one in the kitchen, but i have to wait until later. Sigh.
  9. Oh, i forgot to mention it is a holiday here. sort of...Michael is home shooting zombies atm. It's the Civic Holiday but most people except gov't employees have to work
  10. Someone needs to invent the never-ending donut... i just finished mine.
  11. Happy Friday, August 1, 2025 aka World Wide Web Day!
  12. it's super to see you back when you feel like it!
  13. There are plenty of Vietnamese restaurants and nearly every other cuisine you can think of, here. We're very lucky to have all of these options. We have a few options where we live, but downtown is the best place for a variety.
  14. It's supposed to be nice.. But do not go in winter. Not because it's cold, but often the train's water/ toilet and showers freeze up. Not pleasant from what i've been told. There are some great things on YouTube about the trip. It's not cheap either unless you take the sleep in your seat option. We thought about it, but because Michael is 6'11" we decided not to. He'd be very uncomfortable. Even in the prestige version, the beds are very short. We'd be better off flying to BC if we want to see the Rockies/ Vancouver. Michael would like to take an Alaskan cruise, but not at the present time. We could go to Newfoundland and see puffins, lots of old fossils, Viking settlements, whales and icebergs.
  15. i'm glad you guys feel like sharing...i've written ad nauseam about my former life on my blog and in poems and in My life in Pieces. That's enough. i'm slowly learning that the past is not always a good place to hang out. Now back to afghan squares... i only need a couple of hundred more. This boy is not cooking tonight, Michael is, which means speed dial for something. LOL. It is blessedly cooler today, heat warning has been cancelled and also the air quality warning too. This was Toronto this morning... having some of the worst air quality in the world, again, due to fires in the Prairies. So we're all good! Now back our regularly scheduled nonsense.

Nice job about a difficult and misunderstood topic. It's sad that people with invisible disabilities need to carry cards or otherwise prove, often over and over again, that they are deserving of assistance.
  17. You don't need to hide in there, here. Out you come.
  18. You are welcome in the f'd up club. Sometimes disappearing is a good thing. I recommend it when necessary. It's good just to be quiet now and again. Glad you're getting some help and things are a bit more settled for you. xo
  19. Michael told me, when my brother-in-law had his first child, he said he should have gone to the drug store and just bought two of everything. It sounds like you should do the same when bringing home these pups, buy two of everything chewable.
  20. i ordered a special pen for them. Room to run, places to sleep and eat. And they are contained unless they can fly ...
