Thank you Avid Having one of the largest packs, John understands how to address a group and isn't afraid of putting himself at risk for the greater good. Having Aiden and Ethan at the ready was definitely an advantage though.

Thanks Centex. I kept making little adjustments to the fight scene right up until I posted it. Looking at it and wondering if I was missing something. By the time I hit post, I was happy with the result. Aiden and Ethan turning into fireballs in the Alpha meeting was needed for two reasons. It brought it out at the start that these two are far different from the typical wolf and it protected John and their allies from being silenced. It did also let the Security Director know that the reports he'd seen were correct, but that they two were well beyond his reach to control.

JP is keeping a low profile yet attending the meetings as any other Alpha would. No way of knowing for sure if he placed any vote or abstained. He knows his fate rests with Aiden so he will keep doing what is expected of him during the con. The mates would have had their own committee meeting to attend during the main Alpha session. They just had added security in case things went badly in the meeting and someone attempted to capture or kill the mates.

Thank you JT. The two same sex Alphas should make good friends to Ethan and Aiden. They can give advise and perspective that other Alphas can't.

Thank you Lux. There is still much for Ethan to learn and he's been giving a seat at the adults table. His inner wolf guides him, but the lessons he learned on the street play a big role in how he deals with different events. Aiden and the current Alpha pair try to help him learn, but some things are learned through experience. Originally the conference was going to be one chapter, but like with the rest of the story, I prefer taking a slow pace

Thank you Buz. I think in a way, your reaction to JP is what I was hoping for after his backstory came out. He started out perhaps with the right intentions, but he kept going and took pleasure from his position as leader of the gang and as you point out, there is his family that adores him.

Thank you Taurec. Ethan's Alpha told him he had to fight wolf only and could not use his extra gifts. You can blame Jean-Pierre for the things he did while understanding how he got started in it. He did keep running the gang for years after taking power. Essentially he created to personalities, one as the ruthless gang leader and one as the small pack Alpha trying to look out for his own people.

Thank you Patrick I had to actually go back and look, back in chapter 1 there is a reference to Ethan staying in shape from martial arts and swimming.

Thank you Fantasyboy I like your assessment of Ethan. He does not like bullies and spent years defending himself from them. How he does against a seasoned Alpha is the question.

Thank you, CG Yes, I admit it... I am an evil enough person to make everyone wait an entire week, but only because I'm still editing the next chapter, trying to make it as good as I can. Jean-Pierre knows his fate rests in Aiden's hands and that Aiden made it clear as crystal what would happen if he thought he was getting played. I still smile every time I read Ethan getting called "the little bitch" and him replying that only Aiden gets to call him that and then I picture their playroom.

Thanks Kubikra, I never mind when someone points out spelling or grammar errors. I'm my own editor, so one one of the ten or so proofreading passes I made before posting this I'm the one that missed any of it. Typically the errors are down to one or two per 1000 words. While I'd like to have it free of errors, I do the best I can before it all blends together.

Thanks Centex. It has been fun building Jean-Pierre from the hateful demon of a man when he was introduced into what he is today. He has committed serious crimes and does the protection of his pack justify that in any way? Maybe and maybe not. It the wolf world the lines are a little more grey. Many of the Alphas understand the modern world and can accept change, while some like Dorian live in the past or are just too full of themselves. Anytime Ethan as fought so far, it has been in concert with his gifts. Can he fight another Alpha without the use of those gifts? Regardless of how much preparation Aiden and the others gave Ethan, when a simple twisting of words can lead into a challenge, it becomes more difficult to avoid the school yard bully.
