Thank you LadyDe. I use to hear the same thing at times. For anyone that hasn't seen Ethan and now Aiden in action it would be easy to overlook the reports as crazy. Here's hoping that's the case. More and more, Ethan and Aiden realize they are two halves of the same coin and complete the other.
Thank you CG. The pack is probably just beginning to scratch the surface on what it knows about corruption within the Lycan Council. Fortunately, it was something that was already known to some extent so the Alpha and others have been working to gather information.
Thank you Centex. Their in bed conversation was fun to write If you're going to be running covert operations, who better to have then the Security Director? Besides, remember the person he was talking to was even higher up the food chain. Gaelan could be a problem in the sense that he worked for the rogues, willingly, he also entered the territory to scout out targets and relay that information back to the rogues.
I'm flattered you wrote this out on your phone
Hey CG. Great to see you're back and thank you for the wonderful compliment. I thought about having Ethan and Aiden destroy it all, but decided that they had done their part and anything like that could be left to others.
Thanks LadyDe. I know what you mean about Michael. Even writing him, he's someone I want to really dislike, yet I do feel sorry for him since there is something seriously wrong with him.
Mary checked Casey and Ethan for injuries even though she knew there were none. Motherly instinct required it, and she would not be denied her duty. Satisfied with her sons’ health, she moved on to the rest of the carload. Trevor and Aiden were used to this treatment, having dealt with things like this while growing up. Cody found it quite amusing, and Darius rolled his eyes and resigned himself to the fact he could not get out of it. Rafe patiently waited his turn along with Kate and Weylin.
Thank you rbenn!! It might take some time for the two to figure out if Aiden was turned in some way or not. If the scent of other cured ferals is close enough that John Doe could recognize it, I'd say it's possible. Ferals did have a unique scent that others could easily identify as feral so it is also possible that he wouldn't know anyone by scent that's been cured. I always figured John Doe had been captured in a raid on his home pack and held by the rogues ever since. He was taken young and eventually went feral.
Thank you Buz. Michael is one of those people you want to hate, but have to pity as well sometimes. His desire for power and control have pushed him off the deep end.
Centex, as always, Thank you! Fortunately Aiden has Ethan and all his friends to try and help him through any issues that might come up due to his captivity. If his new abilities are something that was actually passed on to him and he's able to learn how to tap into that, I would expect he'd treat it the same as everything else.
There's no turning back now for keeping Ethan a secret. At best, others night not know what he is, or Aiden for that matter.
Thank you Avid It seems that while the Lycan Council is useful for it's general purpose of providing an administrative body it isn't something that is overwhelmingly liked due to perceived and sometimes confirmed corruption.
Thank you JT. It was questioned if Ethan was channeling his power to Aiden, which I could see as possible through whatever mental link was allowing Ethan's dreams. Given that Aiden was the only Lycan able to turn Ethan, I'd say it is equally as possible that Ethan might be able to turn Aiden in some fashion.
The transport vans rushed the hostages to the main staging area for evaluation. Several were injured in the rescue. Some who had been shot began suffering from early stage silver poisoning. A few others had broken bones, or serious bite and claw wounds; those could be healed by shifting, as long as they had not been shot with the hated metal. Everyone was thankful no one had been killed.
Ethan remained on his mate’s lap for the entire drive to the staging area. Aiden held him close, breathi
Thank you phoenix I was going to leave Ethan's display for the Alphas where he just used the mist and ice again, but decided since he was feeling moody with everything going on, bursting into flames in front of everyone would be fun.
Casey seems to be drawn to Cody, but they don't appear to be true mates or they would have known it already. They could possibly try to make a go of it or it might just be a fling for the moment.
Thanks Jim. I did a lot of back and fourth on the battle scene, writing several different versions. This one ended up feeling the best to me. With the number of people that witnessed the two, it will undoubtedly create some attention.
Centex, Thank you. This was one of the few chapters I wasn't sure how it would go over. The encouragement from you and all the other readers makes the challenge of writing fun. There are several possibilities on Aiden and his show of power. I still haven't finished that part yet, though so...
I came close to putting another conversation in between Aiden and Jean-Pierre, but dropped it. I'm still undecided about leaving it out.
