Avid, Thank you. If Ethan does manage to confront the rogues head on, it could be interesting to see how they fall.

Thanks rbenn. I had to go back through everything since I didn't have it listed in my bio file on everyone. In ch. 8 it briefly mentions that Michael expected to take over as Alpha when his father stepped down, the same as when his grandfather stepped down allowing the current Alpha to take over. If I did write the parents were killed in a rogue attack, I'll fix that if I can ever find it. My bio and time line files are about the only thing that keeps things in order for me Trevor had returned to university just after Ethan's first shift. There probably isn't much he could do beyond trying to comfort his friends for now at least.

Thanks Tylor. I'd say odds are you're probably right

You're a wonderful writer and this story has me hooked already. All the characters are so lifelike and likable right from the start, with the exception of the evil twin.

Really liked this first chapter. I can't wait to read more. This is definitely going on my must read now list

“Who authorized the attack on three packs?” Jean-Pierre growled at his top lieutenants who lined both sides of the conference table. He read over the reports listing hardware lost, people and property captured, and casualties incurred. “Are you telling me we lost over one hundred men, plus nearly fifty ferals?” He threw the report across the room. His fury seethed and eyes flashed as he wanted to rip out the throats of all those seated around him. “I’m gone for twenty-four hours and this type o

Thank you LadyDe for bringing a smile to my face with this

Thanks, Gee. The Alpha's son has been brought up several times, though rarely by name. He's become the pet of the rogue gang and has been providing them with as much information on the pack as he could. He's the reason the rogues became involved and started testing the defenses of the pack. For Darius, I'm going to go with expandable arm band that held his radio and GPS.

Thanks, ILike I will happily be called a sly SOB for a reaction like yours. Ethan was the obvious choice to be kidnapped and it was originally intended to be him when I first started mapping out the story, but it became too obvious so Aiden became the unlucky one. Now to see how each one handles the situation

Thank you Centex The battle scene was fun as it developed through each successive edit. I also had fun with the Halloween portion since other than writing, one of my hobbies is carving pumpkins at Halloween and I had done those four I described with the story in mind. I know some things in the story, like the attack are kind of predictable. The reaction from you and some of the others made me smile, knowing I can still surprises people with something unexpected

Onim, as always, thank you for your continued support. I kind of hoped for that type of reaction, but wasn't sure I'd hit it.

Thank you shade Working on final edits for next Monday's chapter now.

Work at the sheriff’s department meant Aiden was on a rotating schedule, sometimes on days and other times overnight. Depending what shift he was assigned for a given week, it felt like he and Ethan did not get much time together anymore. They made the best of it since they both had jobs they enjoyed. To them, it meant working that much harder to fully appreciate what time they did have together, even if it was just a kiss as one came home and the other was leaving. Rafe changed Ethan’s schedule

Thank you LadyDe. The only potential reason to make a grab for Ethan based on what the rogues know is that "The Insane One" kept going on about how the Alpha was protecting him, so he could be a bargaining chip if taken. I'm keeping quiet for now on any outcome for Paul

Thank you Centex for your continued support. Helen had known Aiden and Casey since they were pups, so the presents of them at the meeting with Ethan would lead to one general conclusion. Ethan's the new one, so it must be him. I actually did consider having him switch sides before he was caught, but it never seemed to work right. You never know, he still might decide to turn. I almost deleted that part about Casey, Cody and Darius. It wasn't until the final read through before posting that I decided to keep it. I liked the fun Ethan was having with it while not actually teasing Casey about it, just smiling till Casey brought it up The rogue leader has a thriving business empire to run. While attacking other packs is part of that, taking on the larger packs has major risks. Even with great intelligence and surveillance, deciding when to risk assets and risk retaliation is the key to staying alive.

It took the solaris spy posing as Paul Mitchell a week to find out he had been hired at the mill. This gave him a successful foothold within the Parker Valley Pack’s borders. The general laborer position didn’t draw any attention to him; go to work, do the job, and go home. Like all the companies Alpha Stockdale owned, this one had good pay and benefits even for the low-end workers. Within a few days of being hired, he managed to rent an apartment about fifteen miles from Silver Pines, and bega

Thank you ILike I appreciate all the great comments. For Ethan, accepting himself as part of the Tucker family is probably the best closure he could get over is former human family, though I like the way you think. You never know what might happen with the future chapters. I tend to be rather vague on the subject so I don't give away any clues before someone reads, but I do like all those thoughts you had.

Thank you as always centex I would have to say that with the tremendous amount of power that went into Ethan's shift and all four primary elements making an appearance, as the Alpha described, a lighthouse in a storm. All that power called to the ferals similar to how the Alpha thought the other ferals had been attracted to Ethan. Ethan wouldn't have waited any longer to help those in need. It might be a drain on him and he might have still been tired from the weekend, but he was going to see to those that needed it, even if it was a quick and dirty start to the healing process. As for the hunter, he'd been just outside the door so many times already that he knew Ethan was the source of the cure, but not how it was done. It was brave to risk asking to watch and Ethan's little display would impress upon him to keep his word. Charles Reese is one of the Alpha's advisers and holds a seat on the pack's council. Thinking he could do an end run around the Alpha to get some information he was denied, he found he's not as smart as he thought. Aiden's knows that his two best friends are extra special to Ethan. They helped convince Ethan to return to the pack and they are a tight group that included Ethan from day one. Aiden also knows that his friends would lay down their lives for him or Ethan and as such, trusts them completely. Physical attention towards his mate and even the open joking around just makes the bond between the friends stronger. The Solaris is traveling with his tracker off. I'm not sure what odd's Las Vegas bookies would place on the response if he turns it on. I need to do some research on Egyptian Magi

It had been an exhausting night for Ethan. The first shift for any born lycan will zap their energy, and he had to contend with not only his transforming into what turned out to be a beautiful white wolf, but doing a double shift by first going into an alpha hybrid. Home in his mate’s arms, he drifted off to sleep, dreaming of their time running side by side. His hands and feet occasionally moved as if still running. The wolf in his mind was awake and reliving every thought, smell, and experienc

Thanks centex I think I understand now how it would feel to be on the witness stand in court trying to describe an event. Ethan is turning from a water elemental to a full blown elemental. His lack of control during the shift going on spectacular display to those closest to him. In this case, the Alpha was only a guest at Ethan "coming out" party. As Alpha he could have said no, but this was a party/celebration for Ethan as those closest to him. Also with his recent realization that they had been excluding other shifters, he would have been happy to see them. Ethan's outsider perspective is giving them all a chance to grow as a community.
