Need me to release the wolves on anyone? Downtime conversations tend to go all over the place. All depends on how much energy or emotional energy the people have to talk. Just like in Cadets, there can be a lot of sexual banter at times. More so when the team is familiar with one another. Caution is used around outsiders and especially when women are present. Among the US crews I've heard plenty of jokes wishing a fag or two was around to take care of things. I usually raise my hand and say, "there is one here, but he's not desperate." The guys in Australia tended to be fun and chatty. If they knew the touristy stuff, they told me. There'd be the same sexual banter due to lots of guys going weeks with nothing but their hand or whatever they could stealthily do around the camps. Basically same rule applies, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

Brandon helped Jaxon lift one of Brutus’ pumps back into place. They had removed all three from the truck and repairs were completed on the first. It took some effort for the pair to maneuver the heavy equipment into the confined space where it needed to go. Accepting a wrench from Jax, the American dutifully followed instructions from his friend, as they reinstalled it. “We’ll turn you into a full-fledged spanner monkey by the time you head home.” “I’m not sure about that.” Brandon wi

Pimp CJ at the airport had me laughing the first time I read it. Still does. It was sweet with Ritch giving his ring to Lucy. From the sounds of it, Simon isn't someone to piss off. Not sure what it is about those short guys. lol. This is an overall wonderful chapter, right down to CJ's lecture.

Thank you, Clancy. In the defense of the policeman, he knew the main road was blocked and that the crew was needed on the other side. With the information he had, he sent them on what he thought was the safest route. Fires are unpredictable though and sometimes travel much faster than people realize. Frayed nerves, blistered paint, and some melted plastic were ultimately the only casualty. When such a large area is pushed well beyond the breaking point, mistakes happen. Thankfully no lives were lost. Australia managed to get more water than they could use or store this summer while California's winter was very dry. Only time will tell what the fire season will be like in both places.

Grab this rope Tie it tight 'round your waist We won’t let you slip away I may not know the way to go Or how to help But I’ll always travel beside you Like so many others Who don't want you to get lost

I agree with tim. The combination of the new and old is a nice compromise and works well. It's a good and productive experiment. Thanks for your hard work.

Thank you, Centex. Thankfully that polly didn't send anyone else down that road and kept people on the safe side of the roadblock.

Thank you, Mike. If you can't safely battle the flames, go to the next best thing. It's a busy chapter, but they held it together. The crews around those towns really were amazing.

Of course. It's one of my pleasures from writing.

❤️ Yep, something Ethan and Aiden said at the start.

You perfectly describe the conditions and difficulties in this. The heat from the fire amplifies the wind, which fans the flames, which increases the intensity of the fire. The micro-weather systems around the blazes are as unpredictable as the fire itself. Throw in a firenado or smoke lightning and it gets even worse.

I'm just going to point to Nightlit and Kitt's comments

Personally I could think of better ways to do that, but some of the characters are allegedly straight.

Thank you, drsawzall. I first heard that comment from someone that worked for a volunteer fire department. They had two antiquated trucks and maybe a dozen personnel. He knew anytime they got called to a house fire, no matter how much they trained or how hard they worked, the foundation would be all they could save.

The fact I could get that response from you twice says I got across what I wanted.

Thanks Dughlas. Most all the lycan in my world talk to their animal in one way or another, but it's more seamless in nature. They all have a dual personality of sorts where depending on which body they're in one or the other will take control. The closer the tie between the two sides is, the more they blend to both sides. Brandon has always kept his animal at bay as much as possible. For him, it is very much two souls inhabiting the same body.

Just my personal opinion, but the old reaction icons looked better. They were easier to see and tell the difference. These new ones are an annoyingly small yellow blob. If the "I read it" is a problem, remove it and likely people will use the thumps up again instead. I don't mind change when it creates a positive benefit. I know you work hard to keep this site updated and looking great. I'm just not behind this change.

Very fun chapter. It's cool seeing the two of them getting to know each other. And glad Mason manned up and asked Vincent out himself.

“Bloody copper.” Noah hissed. “We told him we needed to stay on Kings Highway.” “Well, he said there was an accident or something blocking the road.” Lucas carefully watched ahead to help Jaxon avoid obstacles. “Bitching about it won’t help now.” “We could have pushed it out of the way if need be. Might have dented the roo bar”—the heavy, tubular metal guard protected the front of the trucks from brush or wildlife like kangaroos running across the road—“but we’d still be on a B road. N

Wonderful chapter. A benefit concert with Chipper, two holidays at home with the dads, a party at CJ's and Owen's, and time with Lucy. Couldn't ask for anything more.

Chapter 1: Dark Discoveries
WolfM commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 1: Dark Discoveries
So happy I was introduced to your story. This is a very cool start. The mix of magic and lycans most definitely has my attention and affection. I can't wait to read more. -
Now I'm trying to figure out if it would be a short about the short alpha following the possible book 5 I'm working on or maybe after giving Trevor a few chapters of his own finally. I'd say stop giving me more work, but I like working with you too much, Big Daddy @Carlos Hazday 😇

Folks should search out everything @Kitt has written. Just the few things I've read so far are wonderful.
