We exited the office building and proceeded down the street to a small, Italian restaurant, where Alain was greeted with enthusiasm by the maitre d’. As we were led to our table he waved hello to several gentlemen and ladies who were already seated in the restaurant. “You know a lot of people,” I said. “Montreal isn’t such a big city when you’ve lived here most of your life. I think I’m related to most of the people in here.” Alain was a master at small talk and gave me his full attention.

I really like the honesty between Clayton and Ryan. I like that a relationship isn't constrained by age or conventional abilities. Way to go Robert! I also like the way you bring in characters from your previous story so we can get a glimpse of their ongoing lives too.
