  1. Hey, Ali! It's been a while, but always good to see you. Hey, Gary.
  2. I found a Netflix adaptation of Cornelia Funke's novel Dragon Rider. I was pretty excited, because I remember reading it when I was Max's age. It was very disappointing, however. It's a cartoon, of course, but the art/design work looks cheap. The story was also a bit sillier than I remember, and one leading character seemed to enjoy robbing a jewelry store for fun. (In the book, he never stole anything, and if he did, he likely would have apologized as he ran off.)
  3. Well, thank you!
  4. Hee hee. Oh, yeah, I remember. My first crush was Jeremy Sumpter, after I saw "Peter Pan" for the first time.
  5. Hey, Terry. I hope Aod is feeling better.
  6. Morgan is definitely more laid back, and also a pushover when Max wants something. I'm usually the 'bad cop' who sets rules and limits, but I always try to give a reason why the rules exist. Also, if anyone tries to hurt my boy, I will destroy them.
  7. He'll be turning 10 on March 20th. (Yup. First day of Spring.) I guess I'll need to have "The Talk" with him sooner rather than later. Obviously, he's not old enough to start dating, but if he wants to do regular 'hang out' type things, that would be okay with me.
  8. Oh, dear. I think Max may have a crush on a boy in his ballet group. I went to check his homework, and a page fell from the back of his notebook. He wrote his name, the other boy's name, and various combinations of them, over and over. Little hearts drawn in the margins.
  9. Yup, everything is good.
  10. That looks tasty. I made Zuppa Toscana for dinner.
  11. Hey, Dugh and Mum.
  12. Hey, Dugh and Mum.
  13. He's doing nicely, thanks.
  14. Hey, Terry. I hope everything goes well for you and Aod.
  15. I think it all depends on the story you want to tell. For some stories, like Circumnavigation, less is more. I love how all of the rich geographic, meteorological, and historical details in the story, but sex and romance takes a backseat. It's just enough to draw a person in, but not get bogged down in the lusty, steamy details.
  16. Hehehe... Disney+ presents Tim Federle's first novel, Better Nate Than Never, in an all new movie! Starring Rueby Wood as Nate, with Lisa Kudrow as Aunt Heidi!
  17. Hey, Clo. I found a movie I think Max will enjoy.
  18. I wonder about Blake. As others have said, he sounds as if he comes from modest means, and I'm interested to hear his history. If only Aric can keep it together long enough to have a meaningful conversation without launching himself at Blake's lips.
  19. Hey, Buckie. How's the family?
  20. Hey, Dugh and Mum.
  21. OMG! I definitely need to show this movie to Max! He'll LOVE it!!
  22. Just finished the first season of "Sweet Tooth" last night!
