  1. *siiiigh* The last time he logged in was three weeks ago. I hope he's doing okay.
  2. Actually, he gave me the launch codes to his nukes when he left.
  3. To quote @Drew Espinosa: FAKE NEWS!!
  4. That's a matter of opinion. What about Plácido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti, and José Carreras?
  5. HEY, CASSIE!!
  6. Hey, Clo. Certainly sounds exhausting.
  7. With Max's eating habits? Much better. It's not an overnight process, but we're learning to eat smarter as a family. We had broccoli-cheddar and ham Frittata for dinner before going to the grocery store.
  8. Hey, Bertie.
  9. Really quiet in here today.
  10. @Comicality His voice changed so much! I wonder what he sounds like now?
  11. Thanks, Dugh. I thought about that, too. For "second lunch" today, Max had mozzarella string cheese, a deviled egg (light on mayo), and a sandwich of chicken salad with grapes and walnuts on whole grain bread. When I presented the food to him, his face lit up like---well, like a kid who just found out Christmas came two weeks early. It never occurred to me that he might actually want to have healthier options available. I guess that's part of the learning curve as a parent.
  12. Hey, Cassie! Thanks for the advice, I'll look around and see I can contact someone like that.
  13. Yup! I found some videos of Brady Farrar and Nolen Dubuc, both of whom are trained dancers. (And very handsome lads, I might add.)
  14. I've been looking for books and movies about ballet dancing, or just dancing in general. However, most "serious" stories such as Center Stage, Mao's Last Dancer, Billy Elliot, etc, are too mature for a nine-year-old.
  15. Thanks for the advice, Terry. Awww, shucks.
  16. Even more so because he's so athletic.
  17. Thanks for the endorsement.
  18. NOT. Helpful.
  19. So, I found a message board for dancers, or the parents of dancers. I saw one topic where parents were discussing what to feed their kids, since the little ones are always hungry after classes or a performance. Max is no different, and he just eats SO MUCH, always! We usually stop at the "Royal" burger joint after pickup from ballet class because it's nearby, and Max ends up eating so fast, I worry he might make himself sick. Then we go home, and several hours later, he STILL empties his plate at dinner! I'm almost terrified at the thought of him hitting puberty, which is only a couple of years away. I also feel a bit guilty, because Max ends up eating so many "heavy" meals, and of course I want him to be healthy. How do I find a balance between caloric needs and wholesome foods?
  20. I make all of my own cookies.
  21. In the summer, tourists come to Traverse City for the National Cherry Festival. We call them "Fudgies", because Doug Murdick's Fudge Shoppe is one of the more popular places in town.
  22. Tim Federle's Better Nate Than Never is getting a movie adaptation. It's a book about a boy who runs away to NYC to pursue his dream of performing on Broadway. Lisa Kudrow will be starring as "Aunt Heidi".
  23. Tim Federle's middle school-age novel, Better Nate Than Never, is hitting the silver screen, thanks to Disney+! 13-year-old Nate Foster has dreams of hitting it big on Broadway. Too bad he can't even get a leading role in his school's theatrical production, instead being stuck as a tree in the chorus section. To break past this setback, Nate and his best friend, Libby, hatch a plan to escape their tiny Midwestern town and go to New York City. Nate: Rueby Wood Libby: Aria Brooks Anthony (Nate's brother): Joshua Bassett Aunt Heidi: Lisa Kudrow
  24. Hey, Cassie.
