  1. I do cry in emotional situations, but it depends on the circumstances. When I heard that my Aunt Laura (whom I had never actually met in person) had passed away? I felt sorry for my grandmother, my mother, etc, but I personally felt no connection to her. When my son, Max, called me "Daddy" for the first time after the adoption was finalized? I definitely turned into a blubbering mess! Certain movies like Heartstone or Love, Simon, move me for different reasons. I've always been someone who wears his heart on his sleeve, and if I ever got choked up watching a movie in a high school classroom, so be it. It's not healthy or human to bottle everything up inside.
  2. Hey, Albert and Steve.
  3. Yep. Normally, Morgan and I use a Bisquick recipe, but I decided to teach Max how to make a pie crust earlier this afternoon. Closer to dinnertime, he helped me grate the cheese, whisk the eggs, etc. We also made a second batch of pie dough for apple strudel.
  4. It feels odd to say hello to you and Mum without giving scratches to the wee lad.
  5. We had Quiche Lorraine for dinner.
  6. @Comicality @MrM This is Elliot Hanna. He co-starred in Billy Elliot: The Musical with Tom Holland.
  7. Make sure it's easy to clean....
  8. Thanks, Dugh. It's really an amazing feeling. Hey, Tea Bat.
  9. After we got home from the grocery store, Max was helping me put away the groceries, and he asked, "Daddy, can we have tacos for dinner tomorrow?" I started to say, "Sure, honey, whatever you want." I got as far as "Whatev--" before I realized what he'd said. Then I started crying. That was the first time he'd ever called Morgan or I by anything besides our names. That was the first time he'd felt secure enough to do so. I was devastated in the best possible way. This little boy completely stole my heart in that moment.
  10. He doesn't talk back, does he?
  11. Max helped me with a batch of meatballs for spaghetti.
  12. @Comicality Here's a short film from the director of "Heartstone".
  13. Hey, Cassie. Sorry to hear that.
  14. Max is on the floor right now, pushing a little rubber ball around for Sneakers to amuse himself. Sneakers doesn't "fetch" the way a dog would; rather, he chases the ball with his nose and swats at it, like a cat.
  15. Hey, Bertie. How are you and Steve faring?
  16. I'm so sorry for your loss, Dugh. I'm sure wherever he is now, Thistle thanks you for your kindness and remembers the wonderful walks you took together.
  17. The dog I mentioned earlier did that, too. The seizures threw off his balance/equilibrium. I really pray that Thistle's condition is treatable.
  18. Found a new book on Goodreads. It won't be published until May 2022, but I thought it sounded good enough to share. Written by Shawn Amos, son of Wally "Famous" Amos, the story is a loose biography of his childhood.
  19. Make sure to clean the molds before you do any chocolate making!
  20. Hey, practice makes perfect! And I look forward to seeing the next one.
  21. Thanks, Dugh. *scratches Thistle on his belly*
  22. You'll always be our pretty Tinkerbell.
