    Chapter 21

Reading Left Without Words + listening to Ruel's "Dazed and Confused" over my headphones = best decision ever.
  9. Happy National Spaghetti Day! Morgan and I are having Spaghetti Carbonara for dinner.
  10. Hey, Dugh, Mum, and Thistle. *scratches Thistle on his belly* Hey, Gary. Sounds like fun.
  11. You're welcome, although, I confess it slipped my mind that the pleats are meant to cover the backside, not the front. I'll not make that mistake next time.
  12. Well, I've had a number of relationships in my life, and I faced temptation a few times. But I would always tell myself, "Nope, not worth it. Definitely don't want to screw up my relationship with the person I'm currently dating." Now that I'm married, the circumstances are different. When you get married, you basically agree to only date one person for the rest of your life, and I intend to abide by that agreement. Does that mean that I won't be tempted by some pretty face in the future? Of course not! I'm married, not blind! *laughs* But being connected to one person for the rest of your life should hopefully give you enough reason to "just say no" when those temptations arise, and I will always remember those reasons when and if such a time comes.
  13. I know it isn't, but it's the same flavor profile. Happy Birthday, Dugh.
  14. The Door at the End of the World, by Caroline Carson The book was...so-so, but I doubt I'll read it again.
  15. It will only be chicken-fried steak. With some form of potatoes. No pizza, no salad, and definitely no beets.
  16. Chicken fried steak! Now I have an idea for tomorrow's dinner!
  17. That's a soup. There's a restaurant in Traverse City that serves chunks of roasted beets on a bed of labneh (a kind of yogurt), with flatbread, and that was the inspiration for my pizza.
  18. Right now, I'm watching Laurence of Arabia on TV. I love that movie, but I watch it only sparingly, because of the length of the film.
  19. I used goat cheese. It's the same thing.
  20. You've never had beets with sour cream/creme fraiche?
  21. I bought some beets, and I was looking for a recipe to use them with. It turned out delicious.
  22. If I put lettuce on it, that would be a salad!
