Killian is sixteen, and he can be forgiven for not always realizing where the the things he says or does might lead. He did hurt Asher, but I think Asher will be back. He will hopefully understand that Killian's mind is in a whirl just now. Adam surely helped with that. But Asher is both a necessary ingredient to this tale, and a necessary ingredient for Killian's happiness! Great move on contacting Kane. That will hopefully be a joy for Adam, and not another headache. You never know how things will go when other people are involved. Kane's mother should hook up with Killian's father. They'd probably be happy each trying to control the other. Maybe there would be an explosion of some sort! And on that note, I'm happy to learn that Killian's mom is going to get smart and leave her jerk husband. No one should tolerate being abused in any way. Great chapter. I guess I can wait for the next one. Sigh!

Killian's father deserves whatever hell he gets for this. I hope it's an especially hot one, too. I can't believe he has the sort of power his wife seems to think he has. Any judge worth wearing robes would take a damn dim view of all this. The hospital has to report it. I'm interested to see what happens with that. It certainly makes our Mr. Legal Eagle look like a good suspect for the murder of Seth. But...he could just be a particularly nasty red herring, too! I certainly hope our author has some just desserts planned for Mr. Prosecutor. Grrr! Adam and Steve are doing the right thing here. Killian's mom is in a bind, but I hope she can find a way out, too! Next chapter!

I hoped Asher would be there for Killian. The clues were there. Interesting set up here. There are actually several suspects, including Killian's own father. Asher seemed possible at first, but not now. At least, I hope not now! "God hates fags', 'burn in hell' - our hater would seem to be at least a bible-reader. Hmm. Too early to do more then speculate. Good! 😁 But, it seems clear that Killian's father is going to be a problem, even if he's not a killer!

Looks like it's here to me! I have to admit to being a little lost at this stage. Been a long time since the last chapter. But I'm game to go on!

Wow. Our boy has been through a lot. He's been to the edge and back. No wonder he's worn out and just wanted to sleep. I hoped Killian's mom would come around. I'm glad she did. Her support is going to make all the difference. Now, to just keep this information about Killian from his dad... Asher...is a puzzle, thus far. I am not going to speculate on his motivations just yet. Good chapter. We're on the road to...somewhere!

Sometimes, the poke is just to see if you're paying attention!

Charlie, Kip, and the gang will be here in a few weeks for Halloween. Can you wait until then?

I suspect most people's lives have a brightness within them, somewhere, which we just get used to, and which makes it harder to see. Sometimes it just takes a small poke from outside to focus us on it, and remind us it's there.

I very much hope that the things you read here brighten your reality, even a little bit. I have to say, the whole planet is sort of facing a depressing reality these days, so just remember you're not alone!

I am not a fan of stories that don't end well. There's enough of that in reality, isn't there? When I have control, I want things to end happily!

As straightforward as Ben is, it seems he wouldn't hide being gay or bi if he was. I just think he's got a big horndog gene and is accepting of others in a way that's uncommon. But, I am perfectly willing to be surprised later on! Romance seems to be marching on here, so far completely unobstructed. Can it really be this easy?

It would be nice if it was a rule that every boy looking for a boyfriend had a buddy like Ben paving the way ahead. What an easier world it would be! Things have gone very smoothly thus far. Does this means something is going to go off soon? The rock musical sounds like it's going to be a project and a half. But, I'll wait to see how it goes. Another good chapter.

Sad, sad moment. I wasn't positive it was Seth that had been killed until now. But I was pretty certain that the killer recognized Killian and that was the only reason he was still alive. The mystery is on the roll, the first clues laid out. It's going to be an interesting chase to justice. Thanks for sharing this story!

Geez. Talk about a bad moment! I felt it coming, though. So begins the mystery. I already don't like this town. I figure I'll like it even less before this is all over. That's the mark of good storytelling, though. You've got me mad!

The third outing for Mikey, Eryk, Aunt Sally (who is Darren Hubbard), and Pete's Bar and Grill, this time with some life-building going on for our happy couple, but not without some bumps in the road. We begin with a problem out in the alley, add one more at the office, and mix thoroughly and put an olive on top. Will this odd collection of delightful characters solve their problems and win out in the end? I know you want them to! Guess you'll just have to read the story, and see!

Another great installment in this endearing series. I have to admit that your nasty characters really are nasty. Fortunately, the many good ones far outweigh their influence. It would be nice if that formula would repeat here in the real world! Another five stars!

Yeah, Ben knew. It doesn't matter. Tim and Guy are right where they need to be. Together.

That's what I think! I had the feeling that Ben had already done an appraisal of Guy and was considering him to possibly be a good match for Tim!

Ah, blindness. It happens to everyone, at one time or another. It's usually less of a life-changing event than this, though. I think denial is quite common. I think someone knowing they are gay but hiding the fact from others was a norm for a very long time. I think it's more unusual for someone to get to the age of driving and to still be hiding the fact from themselves. But I'm certain it does happen. The story thus far has the seeds of some intense confrontations already growing. Killian's father is a piece of work, and nothing good can come of that. It's heart-wrenching to see what Seth is enduring. Honesty has its place, but also its price. I'm hooked! Can't wait to see what happens next!

Another fine tale from one of my favorite authors. As always, there are well-drawn characters you like or dislike, because that's the way they are meant to be. And places you can visualize, because they are so well depicted that you wish you were there. And an ending you can live with and love, because that's what the author wanted for you, and for his characters. This is a love story, pure and simple, that takes some years to form and get going, and then comes at you in one sweet rush that is memorable and satisfying. So, what are you waiting for?
