Haha. I was just poking a little fun at myself with the Garret Keys thing. I don't think another one will show up. Trust me!

I don't know about that. I really think that few people know how brave they are until that moment that tests it emerges. I think you'd be there, screaming your head off, scared to death, but swinging an axe, trying to keep the guys out of danger.

Thank you. I would love to think that the race would be improved by this sort of hardship. But I suspect that it would not. The decent people of the world will always be in danger from the zombie personalities among us. It's one of the prices of being human.

Haha. Once separated, I doubt (hope) the head cannot be trouble later on. But it would be kind of fun to add a chapter where they all wake up the next morning and see the grave is now empty. The zombie would be less dangerous without arms, unless the first thing he did was go and find them....hmm. Sigh. Too late! One chapter left. Tomorrow.

Haha. Four sticks was a bit much, but I agree with that it's better to have a little too much, than not enough to do the job. Not sure where the zombie's arms went. They could just be in the remains of the rafters, or they could have knocked a Russian spysat out of the sky. Happy you liked it.

Pleased you liked it. The ending had to have some kick to it, after the build up in the previous chapters. One chapter left for tomorrow. The title of that one is, "Loocy, you got some 'splaining to do!"

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain, Ivor! He's a bit of a wiz, but there are some smoke and mirrors there, too! I like to see chapters where the guys get to relax and live a little. New, like-minded friends are an agreeable expansion of their social circle. Of course, the idiot football players had to put in an appearance, too. I know that not all high school sports-minded guys are idiots or bullies, but there does seem to sometimes be a disproportionate number of them on high school teams, suggesting s correlation. Quite a number of guys in the closet in the same teams. I always thought the contrast interesting!

You PAY your proofreaders? What a novel idea. Shh! We can't have THAT getting around!

I don't have editors, or even one editor. I have a beta reader, who looks for typing errors. I have found myself to be a terrible proofer of my own work, as my eyes tend to see what I intended to type, and not always what I actually typed. But my beta guy is extremely dependable, and I always have the story back the next day, or (once or twice, for LONG stories) in two days. If for some reason he could not read the story quickly, I have someone else read it. Even so, after posting a new tale, readers often send me typos we ALL missed. Haha.

Chapter Fifteen They were eating breakfast the next morning when Will called an alert. A few seconds later, the first stone hit the side of the camp. The zombie had returned, and was back to his little war dance at the edge of the field. Richie and Jeremy were delighted to see that the creature had returned to the same spot. That probably only meant that the zombie arrived from the same direction each morning. But he had also left the pile of gravel there on its woven mat, which

The editor here seems to work very well. I have always gotten an exact match for the HTML I upload. I have been told that some stories here do not display well in some browsers, but I have never had that experience myself. I find GA to be one of the most technically accurate story sites around. still, it never hurts to double check.

Secret clone project? Someone TALKED! Actually, I have been reading for some years about Hollywood resurrecting dead actors via CGI to star in new pictures. I seem to recall a TV commercial a few years back that had Bogie in it, in a basically new setting, although some may have been lifted from a film. The idea of new films with old actors has a lot of appeal...but at the same time, I would know it was all fake. That leaves me a little ambivalent about the idea. I think I would have to see the actual results of such a project before deciding.

Okey dokey. Going to post chapter 15 in just a moment. I always reread the chapter once I get it into the GA editor, because typos have such sneaky life that they can persist, even after several readings.

Agreed. Life has a way of intervening in ongoing stories, and that refers back to the number of orphans hanging out on sites everywhere. Some are very good stories, too. I did post several earlier stories in chapter form, because I knew at the outset that they would need it, and I would need it. Some of the other ones in the 25,000 word to 50,000 word range, I never really thought would get that long. They could still have been broken up after the fact...but that can be hard, as it sometimes damages the flow of the story. This current story was written as one long effort, and separated into chapters before posting. It resulted in chapters of differing lengths, and I was not always sure I had split the action in the right spot. The new story I am writing now is in chapter form from the get-go. We'll see how that works out.

I am the same. I never post a story until it is all written, so I can post one chapter each day if I wish to do so. The last thing I want is an orphan out there, unfinished. Too many of them around the net already.

I didn't know you had read any of my prior work! Yes, I see now that the chapter thing has advantages, and I am rethinking how to do this in the future. I've always been a marathon reader, and length never bothered me. I see now that others prefer the breaks.
