Un jeune homme de bonne famille. A young man from a good family. This is the history of a gay man born in 1945, a child in the 50s, who became a porn actor in the 60s. It's an autobiography, real and interesting. Broadcast on ARTE the European public service channel, it is in French or German, but maybe you can use auto translated captions. I doubt you would get such an uncensored, honest, portrait of one gay man's life in the US. You may need to verify you are an adult to watch it: https://youtu.be/0v6uEP7SdG8?si=5Karr38IKvOtvdYg Note: I wouldn't normally give a link to a foreign language documentary, but this is quite exceptional.

Every evening the old man occupied the same table at the rear of the tavern. He ate his bowl of gruel and sat a while, before retiring to his room. It had been the same for over a month now. Eamar served his supper, smiled, and left the man in peace. In Talmon, on the shores of the Sea of Rhûn, you did not ask questions. Everyone minded their own business. There were people from near and far. Here you could listen to tales and tall stories. You could believe what you heard, or not. But you must

A short story based upon LOTR: The 4th Age - The Age of Man. The Age of Men or The Dominion of Men, marked the transition of Middle-earth from an age of myth and legend into a time dominated by mortal men. It began after the downfall of Sauron and the destruction of the One Ring in T.A. 3019, as chronicled in The Red Book of Westmarch. This was an entry to a competition, the story no longer exists on the original site where it was posted. It is complete in five chapters, at least as far as the tale goes, but it does not tell the whole story.

I have a story ready to publish in Fan Fiction. In order to publish chapter one I have to select/Setup a fandom. I don't know how to do this. The Fandom does not exist. The Fandom would be LOTR Lord of the Rings. Thank you for any help in getting this story published. Link to story and forum post:

Reminded me of a story I wrote years ago for a competition on another site that no longer exists. I guess you'd call it fanfic, maybe I should publish it here, although it's not a finished story. Chapter One – The Chase. Beyond Mirkwood at the far reaches of the Celduin, where the great river empties into the Sea of Rhûn, lies a forest and a land unknown to man. Legend has it that a desert of endless sand stretches forever to a city talked about only by travellers, but seldom has a person visited such a place. The rumours are both dark and mysterious, to be believed or dismissed as pure invention. That city however, has a name, Assakia, and a history, but we will come to that in due time. The peace of the land is a precious gift, a jewel that shines on all the people of every country, both near and far. There is another jewel, less ephemeral that the storytellers say resides in that unknown city. That gem also has a name, the Goldamîr. It’s light, if you would believe the tales, is reflected in the sun and guides or blinds those who would seek to cross that endless desert. □□□□□ “We've been here for days and nothing is moving in or out of the forest.” “Patience Johan, the talk in the tavern was of a caravan going east.” “The talk. There is always talk. Talk and drink, and nonsense.” “The disappearances are not nonsense. Children don’t just vanish.” “They run away... Sometimes. Often?” From where they were camped they could see anything that came out of the forest on the path running next to the River Celduin. It was true this was an unenviable task, sitting and waiting. “Aerandir and Círdan will join us in a day from now. Then you can go down into the forest.” “But there’s nothing. I am sure the rumours are no more than repeated drunken gossip.” “Perhaps.” Eldon settled back against the tree stump and lit his pipe. He didn't like being here anymore than Johan. Worse, the cold and damp made his old bones ache. They could not light a fire because the smoke would easily be seen and give them away. Although he too wondered if anyone was really coming through the forest, he remained silent. As the sun went down, the mist engulfed the river and hid the edge of the forest. If the caravan arrived in the night it would pass them by unseen. Eldon made up his mind, if the others were not here tomorrow, he would send Johan down to the river to check for signs. They could not afford to miss the caravan.

Chapter 2: Boundaries crossed
William King commented on vanalas's story chapter in Chapter 2: Boundaries crossed
Pax is dangerous for Nate, he is a huge unknown, but he is also the guy who gave himself to Nate in a shared night of bliss. We can only hope Nate comes through to meet the world he has just discovered. Somehow, I think he will be compelled by his desire to face the tempest, but that may well cause a lot of damage. This is not going to be an easy ride! The characterisation and narrative were well done and the story is engaging, looking forward to finding out what happens next. -
There we were, outside Jake's apartment, "Go on then," Matty said, "Ring!" I can't say why I hesitated to press the buzzer. I'd gone past the gloom of the past few days. I decided I no longer cared if the rumour spread around the school about me and Ryan. I didn't even care what might happen here tonight at Jake's. Though I couldn't help a sort of premonition that everything was going to change. I would deal with things as they happened. Before, I spent too much time thinking about myself,

No, it doesn't need to be more than it is, but I would definitely read more about these guys if you continued it.

Bowled me over... not sure what this was, did it reach some conclusion?
-
Why hopefully not? Would that be a "no, no?" Well, anyway, the final chapter certainly holds some surprises and revelations, but not.... the three of them in bed together, ha, ha!

Getting up and into school on Monday morning is never easy, but I kept telling myself it's the end of term very soon and the holidays, it cheered me up a bit, but not much. I was still trying to figure out how Matty and me could get some time alone. I was searching hard for an answer that I just couldn't find. Brandon caught me up as I went through the school gates and was crossing the car park. "Have you heard what's happened?" "No, what?" Something stupid no doubt, but whatever, he s

It is cute, but kind of raises the whole issue of BL in Japan, Korea, and what it's like to be a gay boy for real in those countries today.

Sundays were both good and bad, good because it was a whole day with no school, bad because you might just get dragged into some all day family thing and bad because, well, it's the end of the weekend. This Sunday though was all mine to do whatever, within reason that is, whatever I wanted. Having a whole day free was great, but for the fact Matty wanted to meet Jake. I definitely wasn't sure this was a good idea, but I would have to do it anyway. It was around 10AM when I made the call to

Yeah, it's an odd move, have to imagine the reasons he might have, but it will soon become clear!

A few secrets get revealed in this chapter, but what's happening to Dustin? Guess we'll find out soon!

If like me, you're a sucker for short cameo glimpses into people's lives, then you'll love this, because that is exactly what you get. You may be surprised, it may or may not be what you were expecting as the tale unfolds, but it's undeniably well written. The characters are real and well drawn, the situation and the background. There is a depth to the story which goes beyond a brief encounter. Very well written, a great, enjoyable read.

Chapter 1: Meet Nate and Pax
William King commented on vanalas's story chapter in Chapter 1: Meet Nate and Pax
Nate discovered something, Pax is a tease! What happens next? -
Alex is definitely thinking more about Matty, but the question as to what he will do with Jake is about to get just a bit more complicated.

Friday came and went with no time to do anything except preparation for the rugby final on Saturday. We had the usual practice, team talk and tactics from coach, we all knew it would be incredibly difficult to win. I've said it before, but nothing beats entering a stadium packed full of supporters; singing, shouting, waving banners, the atmosphere on this Saturday afternoon was electric. I felt a real sense of pride walking out onto the field with the rest of our team and knowing that somew

A wonderfully and very real emotional short story by an accomplished author who knows how to craft an engaging tale rich in characterisation and full of feeling. Read it!

It is never easy to get the balance right between background, developing relationship, desire, and consummation. You did an excellent job, it was totally believable, emotional, full of feeling, and simply wonderful. I do have one huge criticism: if only the story went on longer! Well done.
-
Yeah, that's a big question that we don't yet know the answer to!

Thursday lunch time Brandon caught me, he wanted to know if I could come back to his house after school because he needed to talk about things. Jonathan would pick us up. I told him I needed to check first, but it should be okay. I called home and mum picked up. "Hello mum. I'm just calling to ask if it's alright for me to go to Brandon's after school." "Yes, it's fine Alex. Will you be back home for supper?" "No mum, a bit later, I'm eating there." "Not too late, Alex."

The chapter comments say a lot about the story, how beautiful it is. But it is a little more than simply beautiful, it is exquisite in the way it narrates two boys, two somewhat hidden, undiscovered souls who find each other. The setting is magical, the gentle unfolding emotional, the consummation erotic, and all quite real and totally believable. The author has charmed me with his prose, taken me on a short voyage of discovery that merits the time taken to read it. You won't be disappointed, just don't rush it, savour the moment. Brilliant!
