Also if it makes you feel any better, I created my account in like 2006 and only started posting my stuff a couple of years ago so yeah... it took me 20 years. I dig dark and messy so can't wait to see what you come up with.

That's so me as well. I'm a couple ahead on one, the site entices me every time i see the green bars "This chapter is not published" well duh lol. I've got one story I haven't even published yet because I'm still not happy with it, but hey it made it to the site so that's progress. Too many things I'm working on and not enough focus to dedicate. I'll write till I'm burned out then switch to the other one because the mood fits, wash, rinse repeat. Edit: Aaaaand now I'll stop high-jacking the comments section. 😂

Yeah there's a bunch of stuff that'll probably eventually bite Josh in the ass. But who can you trust in this story? Does everyone really have Josh's best interests at heart?

My first night at the Kincaids’ had been surprisingly calm. Daniel got home a few hours after we did, announcing that his vacation time had officially started. He looked tired but in good spirits. I've never seen that, I'll have to try to get my hands on a copy. As for the curiosity about Josh yeah people wouldn't expect someone that young to maybe be trained and maybe have that experience, but uh... maybe that was the point. That point will come out and see the light of day eventually. Chapter 9 is done, Chapter 10 is in edit. Chapter 11 is in draft. Compared to the previous chapters these three are softer, but still important so bare with me while Josh is a boring 16 year old lol.

Yep, there’s a ton of fluff everywhere, and there’s more in chapters 9 and 10. Why use a paragraph to explain something when you can use 5 to 7000 words a chapter. 😂 I still have to fit a Langley Chapter in before I get too carried away but I figured it could wait till “after the holidays” So the reason behind all of this is because I haven’t even gotten to the story I actually wanted to tell yet, or what I call plot line B which is Josh himself. Plot A is its own thing and so is Plot B but they will collide at some point, and once more of the details of Plot A starts making itself known it’ll make sense. This whole thing is a bit more complicated than I intended but if it was simple it would be too easy to guess and would be over in 15 chapters. 🤷🏻‍♂️ If you made it this far then I thank you for reading, just bear with me while I get through some boring house keeping. 🙂

Yeah I really tried to ignore the whole elephant in the room that both James and Josh are gay, but I’m trying to build a family here lol. Also I’m a friggen prude I can’t even imagine my characters doing the naughty without feeling like a parent who just walked in on it lmao.

Thank you. I have no medical experience whatsoever so I try to research that stuff and make what's plausible fit. It's not easy sometimes.

I'm actually familiar with that movie, I watched it as a kid, and recently again on streaming. So it was a major reason why this story exists. I'm literally pulling a little bit from everything I've either seen or read before to try to put a new spin on stuff that's been done before. This story is going to be a genre crammer. I'll try to keep the Velociraptors and doomsday asteroid at bay though lmao.

Seriously with everything else Josh has going on, I decided to make a Social Services character that actually didn't cause problems in the story. I figured just doing that was a new twist on an old trope. 😂

That was actually important for reasons I can't get into in a comment, so it's a good set of questions as well. I haven't cut back into Langley yet with their side of the story and I will soon so you guys can have some of those details. But your on the right track with the whole 'felt a need to alert him.' I mean Walter could have just let Josh slip into the ether without saying anything but theres a reason he didn't do that. Once Josh has control of his memory it'll become clear. If the memory doesn't get control of him first...

I'm actually glad I'm pulling that off. I'm a Robert Ludlum fan too but never really thought I'd be able to pull it off. Yep, boom. lol

Is Walter evil? Is Walter a friend? Is Walter behind everything? Such interesting questions.

It does add another layer that Josh needs answers in helping figure himself out. This is definitely a GA story with an edge, we haven't even started "that" part of the story yet. Like I hinted at earlier this could be 25 chapters, it could be a 100, I don't know yet theres actually so much story to tell I can't gauge it's length right now. But I wasn't kidding about fitting as many GA genre's as we could into it. Oh, good pull from a previous chapter. As for the Kincaid's if you look at it from a Chapter 1 standpoint, Daniel was literally just driving to a bed after a long shift. Josh's luck in that encounter could mean more than just saving him from dying on the side of the road. You probably won't have to wait that long. Chapter 9 is in editing pretty much lmao. I'm already about to roll into 10.

You don't have to worry about my imagination, this story is pretty well laid out plot wise it's my motivation that'll hurt it more than anything lol.

The winner of the contest mentioned in Chapter 7 was @Philippe and his question was How did Josh come about having this AI capability? So he's in the know of what Josh actually is, and man what a long reply to explain it, it was. Thankfully the answer gave nothing away (if you can believe it), so may this chapter fuel even more questions. Chapter 9 is already well on it's way as well, and shaping everything that follows nicely.
