Interesting, isn't it, that it is never Ethan's fault(according to him) that the crimes 'occur'? I think it is a very interesting ... I want to say twist, but it was more like walking down a long stairway when suddenly the drop to the next step is twice the distance, then, after recovering from that shock, continuing to go down the stairs, only to have it happen again.... And again, at unpredictable intervals. Unexpected that the 'hero' is no hero, then that our 'careless, murdering-in-a-fit-of-shifting-rage-but-still-the-protagonist protagonist is at best delusional, at worst a lying sociopathic killer, and then that he gets caught yet still thinks he shifted. A great little story to make you think.
