It's time to have a contest.
the rules are simple.
A Halloween story. Somewhere from 1000-10,000 words. It's due 12 noon EST on October 31, 2004.
The story can be scary or funny, but it must contain gay guy(s) and something to do with Halloween. You can use fanfiction, if that's your bent. You can use original stuff. Whatever floats your boat.
Post your story in the Library subforum, Writing Contest Entries.
We'll post a poll for the entries and vote, once they are all in.
The problem with only income tax is that the rich get away with hiding all their income. Example. John Kerry's wife, the billionaire Terresa Heinz-Kerry, pays in the next income bracket up from me! This is why she won't release her tax record. And my salary is pocket lint compared to her income. But hers is hidden in trusts and other tax shelters. By having a national sales tax, she'd pay through the nose when she goes out to buy her personal jets.
Though you are entirely correct about saving... in the short term. On cheap items 25% tax is still nothing. And you'd have a lot more money in your pocket. The government is taking a hell of a lot more out of my pocket each week than the 25% increase on things I buy in one week. (I calculated it out)
I just spent some serious time tonight making the boards default images in the purple color. They turned out really nice...
Check them out.
I plan on working on the Red, Green, Black and others soon.
Dan, I'm so glad that you're there for people that need it. It cheers me up to think that those people have someone to turn to when they need help. Thanks for the update. It was uplifting.
There are a few people that REALLY like purple. Comsie comes to mind.
I've activated the Red (in Process) one. It is still very much a work in Process. (Makes it easier for me to edit it.)

There is also a drop-down selector box at the bottom left side of the board. Select Gay Authors Blue to go back to the standard theme.

Today was better. I scored some points at work.
He was raised in Texas though. lol. My cousins were born in Texas and moved here to New York. Let me tell you... they have a strange accent. (Even 15 years later)
