  1. Well... As for favorite Authors... since I host Gay Authors, I've been known to go after them for bringing their sites here... my stuff, when I have time to write, is on my site here. http://myr.gayauthors.org/ Gay Authors, of course, isn't just for authors. It's for everyone. The domain name of gaystories was taken (still is) when I founded gayauthors a few years ago. I strongly encourage people to promote GA. It's forums like this one that helps authors improve and helps encourage others to write. That's what I like best... seeing new authors having success with their writings. I'll also say a word about feedback... it is dreadfully important. Make sure you email an author and let him/her know what you think.
  2. Get well soon Pyro!

I always drop a PM to the person sending donations, unless it's anonymous. I generally have difficulty getting to the post office before it closes during the week. Depends on when I leave work. So, it might not b euntil Saturday. Myr
  5. That was just a nifty skin I found and downloaded. if I truly get some time... I'll be making my own for the site.
  6. I have been fiddling around with the Story Archive. If for some reason it's not working, try again in a little while. I'll be messing with it on and off. I have managed to update the linking system with some slick code I found. The views will still be counted as they used to be, but you'll no longer go through that redirection page. The change that people will notice is that if you over over a story link, you can now see where it is linked. This has the added bonus of helping us increase our Google ranking. If there are any problems you notice and it stays for more than an hour, please drop me a PM. I'll correct it ASAP. Thanks.

  8. So there I was, Decking the Halls, with boughs of holly, and it occurred to me that I didn't know what constituted gay apparel. Anyone know? I mean, how could I Don my gay apparel, if I don't know what that is?

Until I get a credit card processor set up, the only way is to go to your bank, get some US greenbacks and mail them to the address on the support page.
  10. I waited until I was 24. My parents took it well enough. Shocked the hell out of them, actually. Something more might have come of it, but 9/11 happened a few days after I told them...

Getting more bandwidth bang for out buck might be nice As for what our host provides, it's quite a bit. The site gets well over 1 million hits a month. And remember, that much of the site is made up of larger html files. Kevin, welcome to the group. Click the banner on top of the pages that says "Support Gay Authors". That will bring you to the support page which has the PO Box you can mail things too. As for why we are where we are, we put a hell of a strain on a server. The boards and other things. We have some other features that are nice. (in other words, I'm happy where we are)

Paypal is very anti-gay and cancels accounts of such... As for for breakdown, this site is pretty big (about 500 mb) Comicality's site accounts for about 5 gb of transfer. The main gayauthors site accounts for 5.6 gb (this includes the board at about 3.5 gb). The rest is made up of all the other author sites. I have already started to go through all the code and trim things. So I'm one step ahead of you there. As for Dan's stuff... I haven't optimized his code yet. Comicality's stuff is pretty clean. Mine is. Nav's is. Etc.
