I have ALL the Babylon 5 stuff, All the STar Trek Movies, and all the shows, except the Original series on DVD. DS9 (post season 3 when it tried to emulate the story arc of Babylon 5) is my favorite. I really really really loved JMS's (babylon 5) concept of a television novel instead of random missions like all the other treks...

I don't remember much of the talk I got from my father... but one line I do remember quite clearly... "never have sex with a girl in the house." Well... I never had sex with a girl in the house. After I came out, we had quite a discussion about that. It came back up when I was home for Easter about rule breaking. I told my father I never broke his rules, because I never had sex with a GIRL in the house. lol. He admitted he didn't think of the loophole I used there...

My first word was "light" and I said it on my first birthday, pointing at the moon. From then on, I was fascinated with lights. (something that continues to this day...)

I don't really consider American Idol "reality tv" Blech. It is a music show... which I rather enjoy. I couldn't believe Adam was in the bottom 2 this week. Though... that may have just been Ryan playing games.

Even if I died and became a zombie, I'm going to see Star Trek!

Hmmm... A Trek section... I have all the DVDs of all the TV shows except the original series (and that's because Borders sucks). I also have all the movies on DVD. I'll be seeing the movies a few times... in IMAX.

My IT person at my last company pointed out to me that MSN staying connected is about 5 mb per hour or more.

So, Time Warner Cable has decided to use Rochester, NY as a testbed for the dumbest idea on the planet. And the thing is, we're screwed. The only game in town for reliable high speed internet (outside of being in college) is TWC. They have decided that they are going to CAP our Internet Usage and charge us overage fees like with your cellphone. The highest cap they are talking is about 40 GB. in a Month. If you play games, get movies and music from iTunes, youtube, Hulu, Netflix, etc, use skype, use MSN Or AIM, you're going to hit that barrier really fast. After you hit that barrier they are charging $1 per GB. (remember, a decent HD movie from iTunes runs about 5 gb) As they are basically a monopoly here, they can do anything they want. (we have Frontier as a phone service and they have DSL, technically. It fails for most people. It is also little better than dial-up as far as speed goes). If, like the rest of NY, we had Verizon FIOS around, we could just switch. We can't though. This will also effect you. I'll be limited to how much I can work on the server. Most of the changes over the years were geared towards making navigating easier. Some of it worked, a lot of it didn't. I did a lot of studying of site navigation patterns when we came up with the current menu. Every major thing on the site is accessible within 3 clicks of every other major thing. (most within 1 click) As for growth? by making the site easier to navigate, people stay on the site longer and are far more likely to join. We continue to make efforts to recruit more authors.
