    Chapter 9

Aw, thanks, @Onim! I was definitely nervous about writing this chapter... really glad you thought it worked!

    Chapter 9

Glad you enjoyed the chapter, Chris! Apologies for taking a little longer than usual to get this chapter out... In my defence, work has been really busy of late and I'm in the middle of planning a wedding as well, so it's been hard to find the time to write...! Anyway, yes, Jake and Andy definitely seem to be off to a great start, don't they? ... The end of the story is actually very near though: in the next chapter (... quite possibly the last...) we'll be jumping ahead in time to see what the future holds for them both... I really hope you've all enjoyed the story so far, and thanks to everyone who has been so supportive and written words of encouragement; it means a lot.

    Chapter 9

The day had been perfect and I wasn’t ready for it to end, so after the drive back to Bath and dropping off Sam and Matt in town, I didn’t hesitate when Jake asked if I fancied heading back to his place for the evening; his suggestion of a movie and a glass or two of wine cuddled up on his sofa sounded like a great way to end the day. I held on to Jake’s arm for balance as we toed off our shoes in the entrance to his flat. I smiled up at him. “Thanks again for today, Jake. It really has bee

Thanks for reading and commenting, jagboi. Bath really is a beautiful city - I miss it very much now that I no longer live there, but I've travelled back many times since graduating from the university. I hope you get the chance to visit the UK again soon!

    Chapter 8

Glad you enjoyed the chapter, glennish! And thanks for commenting! It makes the writing all worthwhile to know you guys appreciate it Ha! Too true, deville! That's why we need a bit of escapism like this, isn't it?! I'm definitely a sucker for the romantic moments, too! Thanks for sticking with the story, mfa607! Aw, thanks, Chris! Really glad to hear you're still enjoying the story... I appear to have lost a couple of my followers with this chapter though... I guess you can't please 'em all, hey? Wow! Sounds like you're cooking up your own novella there, droughtquake! Thanks for the 'Like'! And thanks for reading!

    Chapter 8

The day had started out wet and miserable, so I’d spent the morning wrapped up in my duvet watching mind-numbing daytime TV from the comfort of my warm bed, wondering if the fact that I still hadn’t heard anything from Jake was a bad sign, and ultimately fearing the worst. I was trying to muster up the energy to head out and join a queue that was likely to be so epic in scale that it was visible from space with the naked eye – just to get a stupid photo taken for my university library card – but

    Chapter 7

Yeah, I really feel for Jake at the moment... I don't know about you, but I'm not convinced his coming out had anything to do with being brave or making progress; I think it might just have slipped out in the heat of the moment. Hopefully he'll see it as a positive thing though...

    Chapter 7

Isn't that what keeps you guys coming back for more...?

    Chapter 7

Ha! Yep, you're definitely weird! ... Star Wars definitely wasn't where my head was at when writing the chapter!! Hope you're still enjoying the story!

    Chapter 7

Poor Jake definitely seems to be wearing blinkers, doesn't he? Here's hoping Sam gets in there quick...!

    Chapter 7

After fighting my way to the exit and scrambling up the stairs from the club, I frantically scanned the surrounding area for any sign of Jake when I reached street level, but he was nowhere to be seen. Everywhere I looked, all I could see was groups of students stumbling from one place to the next. They all looked so happy and carefree, and it was at complete odds with how ill at ease I felt – my stomach was in knots and my heart was in my mouth. Not wanting to go on a wild goose chase, I fished

    Chapter 6

Having had yet another fitful night’s sleep for the second day in a row, I’d been like a bear with a sore head ever since Matt had knocked on my door that morning. I ended up asking him to join me for a run around the sports fields at the edge of campus; I desperately needed to burn off some of the anxious energy from the previous evening’s events, and running had always worked for me in the past. We seemed to be experiencing something of an Indian summer that day, and my workout gear was plaste

    Chapter 5

Thank you so much for your kind words! It's really rewarding to know that people are enjoying the story... I promise I'll post the chapters as soon as they're ready... and as someone who knows all too well the agony of being left in limbo when stories on here seem to fall by the wayside, I also promise this one will get finished!!

    Chapter 5

Hehe! Yep, good old rhyming slang! These loose ends are slowly adding up, huh? Hope you'll stick around to find out the answers...
