This has been #1 all week, with good reason. Congrats @Mikiesboy on writing such a provocative tale.
-
Would love to.

Spectacular. Thanks for sharing.

Another day of challenges? Sorry to hear it. At least the holiday weekend is ahead of us! Keep the steady breathing going and remember: this too shall pass. Let me know if you need me.

Like you, I have vivid dreams frequently. Some are magical, many are unsettling. I love the dream you've described! They say dreaming of architectural features can occur when a major life change is happening or you're planning something significant. Your dream sounds highly creative. I see a story there...

Why is Chris living in misery over losing Tad when he's the one who ended it for no apparent reason? I'll assume those details are forthcoming. Or, maybe not. Maybe Chris is just a fool. The lunch scene with Nate and Kent was amusing. Prejack happens to the best of us when we're young. No harm done, and they still had time for pizza. Nice chapter, Wayne, fleshing out your characters with finesse.

Before you edited that, I thought you meant put my boy up for adoption. No, at this point in scientific discoveries, I am quite incapable of being with child, thankfully.
-
Wayne, you just made my day. I was/am broken... my husband was/is broken, but by making things work we've made almost 25 really good years. I wish the same for Ben and Travis. Tom 25 years - congrats on that.

Congrats to Paul on the job.

I'm used to it. I think you are, too.

Cabinet manufacturer's behind delivery schedule, no fault of mine or my company, but she's been ballistic and demanding, wanting money back, threatening not to do business with us anymore, etc. etc. I'm like, fine, let's not do business anymore.

Wet and chilly. But I'm in the office now. I've been dealing with an interior designer since yesterday who's gone off the deep end. It's been a good time. Glad your day's improved.

Hello starry, the pollen is affecting everyone right now. Hope your allergies clear up soon.

I hope your work day is going smoothly today, my girl.

Mm, just a little. I've gotten advertisements for baby adoption in the not-so-distant past, which was also out of left field. Not sure what I read or commented on to solicit that targeting.
-
After reading and commenting on this thread, I'm now getting "God will save you" advertisements on GA.

you're most welcome, molly. It was a gift to me, too, when I read it. I'm merely passing it along.

Theories about religion and the origins of good and evil have been discussed for centuries. In this short story, tim provides an intriguing perspective to consider. No matter your personal belief, Of God and Angels will draw you into its plot and leave you contemplating the many paradoxes of religious platitudes and the human condition.

This story evokes theological discussion. How could it not? There is a local Methodist pastor who holds church services in local bars and tattoo parlors. He and other volunteers pass out sandwiches to the needy in a park near the state capital 365 days a year, rain, shine or snow. He's not preachy - he's respectful, he listens, and he acknowledges every single person who comes through his food line or who attends one of his outcast church services. His mantra is "What would Jesus do?" and he sticks by that. He doesn't wait for people to come to him. He goes out where the people are. He's unafraid to get his own hands dirty in order to uplift someone in need. I can get behind that kind of religion. Everything else stamped "religious" is hypocritical bullshit.

When you first shared this with me, I was blown away, as you know. How could I not encourage you to share it with others? It's brilliant. I was brought up in a stifling Baptist household during my formative years, I've since rejected religion, and I'm no theologian, but I still feel a strong pull when it comes to conversations about God, Satan, Jesus, good vs. evil, how humans are perceived as gullible marionettes in this shit-show called life. People have been discussing and cussing religion for centuries. you've provided another theory to consider. your story made me think about a lot of things, and that's what makes it so good. you illustrated a lot in less than 2,000 words. Thanks for it.

Good night, molly.

Good night, subs and DiCsters. @Fae Briona I hope you're safe for the night.

Thanks for starting to read this story, Hawgdad (and thanks to Wayne for pointing you to it!) When it comes to scenes like the tearoom dream, my aim is authenticity. I hope you'll continue with the story. I appreciate your comments. - Mac

Love and words are never lost... They float in and out sometimes, like the wind, but they're never far away. These are wonderful poems, boy.
