  1. Truthfully, I'm a little bored. But I'll dig into a project tomorrow.
  2. Hey Mike. Yes, me too. I've dabbled here and there, but I don't have the drawing gene.
  3. @Mikiesboy Good to see so much feedback on your new story. Well deserved.
  4. Wow, you're productive! That's great.
  5. Phil is still under the weather? Sorry to hear that. No fun on a holiday.

    Chapter 1

When you mentioned the dream and writing a short story based on the premise, and you questioned if you should move forward with it, I thought, yes, why wouldn't you? Such ideas need to be shared. It would be a shame to keep it all to yourself. Now, you've made others weep. It's a beautiful tale, told straight from your heart, the way you're so good at doing. Bravo.
  7. How is everyone doing this evening?
  8. The turbulent sky and the stark lines of rain falling... and yet sunlight coming through. Light and darkness. It's a striking piece. But so many there were... Inspires the creative soul to look at visually interesting works of art.
  9. The Rembrandt exhibit was better than expected. It focused on his printmaking, rather than his paintings. Hundreds of etchings, drypoint pieces and engravings, some so tiny a magnifying glass was required to see the details. He was a skilled sketch and cross-hatch artist. This one is titled The Three Trees, 1643. Unfortunately, you can't see all the minute details, but you can see enough.
  10. This short story packs a powerful punch with its 2,710 words. In succinct tim fashion, we are reminded of the fragility and heroic strength of human existence - when tragedies occur, love is lost, darkness becomes tangible, hope is rediscovered on the other side of grief. This is an acute tale of heartbreak, resilience, and the power of human connection.

  11. If writing gives your thoughts and voice an outlet and helps you sort through the maze, then by all means do it and share it here.
  12. Good morning, subs and DiCsters. No Black Friday here, either. Rather, a special preview of the new Rembrandt exhibit at the art museum. Much better than shopping. Have a good one.
  13. scratch that.

    Boy

This is an expressive piece about an inner turmoil that shouldn't have to be. I hope you find the connection you seek.
  15. It's very warm and fuzzy in here. Happy Thanksgiving.
  16. Mellow as mellow can be here.
  17. Enjoy your meal together, molly.
  18. Unfortunate. I hope the other three siblings find good homes, too.
  19. Good night, molls, happy T-day tomorrow.
  20. With social media and the internet in general, it seems hard to believe that 17-18 year olds are at all sheltered anymore. Hell, most of them know more about the world than I do (albeit skewed). However, you've made a legitimate point, Starry. Because I take my classes online, I forget that some fellow classmates may be fresh out of high school, and therefore I shouldn't be annoyed that their discussion posts read like kindergarten gibberish. I will keep my cynicism more in check.
  21. Have a good night, molls. Thanks for the pick-me-up earlier. Please tell Phil I hope he gets to feeling better soon.
