I don't know what's so hard about this. If you hate waiting for the next chapter so much, just don't read it until it's complete. Simple, right? It's always been a worry of mine that Comsie is overextending his creative muscle with the dozens of stories he has going on, but somehow he still manages to do it after all these years, and the quality never disappoints. But if you only like and follow ONE of those stories? Yeah, I guess waiting so long between new chapters can get a bit frustrating. But just sit down and wait, it's not that hard. There are plenty of other stories on this site and elsewhere that are completed, go read one of those instead. I really think anyone who keeps bitching about how it takes too long to get the next chapter should be forced to write a story of their own. We readers have it easy. for Comsie.

Good to see this one again, great chapter, Com! Things are looking up for our two lovebirds, I think they'll be okay. It's one thing to be the only 'out' kid, but there's strength in numbers. Drew and Ethan obviously have each other for support, as well as Drew's mom and both Ethan's parents by the sound of it. And at school they have Patrick in their corner, and probably Jermaine as well. If Joey and Billy have an issue with it, then they're not friends worth having. It might be tough for Ethan at first to maybe lose some old friends, but he'll get other friends like Patrick that let him be himself, and I think he'll find that a lot better. I'm a bit disappointed that Drew ghosted him, but I understand his reasons. But at some point you also have to wonder when it stops being worth it to hide their relationship. If the locker is any indication, Ethan is already a target. If he's going to get the downsides of being a gay kid in school, I think he might as well reap the benefits as well. I thought Ethan was about to chase Drew down and start making out with him right there in the crowded hallways, LOL!

You can't keep doing this to me, I need to know what happens next! He should go see Ali, but he probably won't, and I kind of understand why he wouldn't. I feel like Jamie is in a bubble right now where he won't believe Ali's side of the story even if he's shown concrete proof, so meeting up with Ali probably wouldn't do any good. But if he doesn't go now he may not get another chance to have closure. I think he should meet up with Ali but I also think he needs to bring Will along. But, he'll probably end up going to meet Oliver and be a lousy date because he'll spend all his time thinking about what Ali wanted to tell him, and then he'll end up losing them both. I feel bad for Oliver, though. He's very likely to get hurt because he was unlucky enough to fall for the wrong person at the wrong time and get caught in the middle of a weird lover's quarrel.
-
I was under the impression that whoever it was only took Ali's letters, and that one of the housekeepers took Jamie's replies from where Ali was keeping them. We know Ali was being followed, but how could they know who the other person was and intercept the letters before Ali got them? It doesn't make sense. I'm really enjoying trying to solve this mystery, and seeing my theories crumble with each new piece of information. I just have the feeling that Jamie's father was an unwitting participant in this scheme. Maybe it was the hot bartender all along, playing the long game.
-
I agree with everything @Bard Simpson said, but on the other hand, I think we all know how difficult it can be to get someone to admit they were wrong about anything, especially after ten years of believing it. And for the record, I think Jamie is wrong about a lot of things in this situation. I think they need someone more detached from the events, like Will, to navigate through this and help figure out the truth.
-
Thanks for reminding me, I was pretty annoyed when Jamie walked out of the bar like that. How the heck did he expect Ali to react after telling him that he was in fact NOT dead like Ali was led to believe for several years now? Shock and stunned silence is pretty much an expected reaction to hearing news like this, not an admission of guilt. For someone who's studying psychology, James appears to be really bad at reading people.
-
You know, the fact that Jamie is so adamant about his father not having anything to do with this makes me think that it was really him. The real question for me then becomes "did he know the letters were for Jamie?" and I'm not so sure about that. My theory is that Jamie's dad was made to take/copy the letters and give them to Ali's dad, then was given the bonus and promotion ostensibly as a reward for a job well done with the letters, and Jamie's father never found out that his own son was the one writing the letters. I'm pretty sure Ali's father paid the PI for that fake death story once he found out Ali was still looking for Jamie. Jamie's right, the truth is somewhere in the middle. It's just a matter of finding an explanation that fits both sides of the story. As for hot Oliver, I happen to think that Jamie should go on a date with him. Even if it's only so he can realise that Ali is a better match for him (both in and out of bed )
-
The wait for the next chapter is already unbearable. It seems they were both lied to, but what's the true story here? I don't believe Ali is lying or knows who Jamie is, he's not stupid enough to think Jamie will somehow be convinced of his own death. The most plausible explanation is that Ali's dad used Ali's friends and that story about Jamie's father to turn the boys against each other (which appears to have succeeded), then sent Jamie away as an extra precaution. That's what I think is most likely, but I'm curious as to the circumstances of Jamie's mysterious death. And now Jamie has a way to prove Ali's father didn't tell him the whole truth. The part about Jamie's father being the one to give the letters is debatable, but I can see it happening. It doesn't sound like him from what we know of him, but it's possible that he somehow found the letters and decided to blackmail Ali's dad in order to get enough money for Jamie's college fund. I think it's unlikely, but I can't dismiss the possibility. They need to continue this conversation at another time and place, perhaps Jamie's apartment, and compare notes so they both can figure out what really happened. You should never trust those "what will the neighbours think" types.

When I Was Only 14 Years Old...
Shadow086 replied to Comicality's topic in Comicality's Shack Clubhouse's Cafe
That's all well and good except the bribes they accept are legal, they're called "campaign contributions". That's what the problem is. Congress doesn't work for you, they never did. As long as both parties can be bought, none of this matters, it'll still be the same puppetmasters picking the corrupt politicians you get to choose from. Term limits? Okay, you'll just get to vote for a different set of corporate shills every few elections. What I think needs to happen is to get rid of this stupid PAC and superPAC nonsense, strict limits on individual campaign contributions, and maybe a bit of government financing to make other parties more viable. Elections should be won with ideas, not your pocketbook. -
A little? From where I stand they are very self-centred. Almost every bad thing that's happened to them can be traced back to this. And they still don't get it, because they're not thinking about Aidan's feelings at all in this matter, just how they were hurt by his (completely justified) disappearance and refusal to return. They just went "Oops, I guess you were right all along, let's let bygones be bygones" and think that entitles them to Aidan's forgiveness and everything going back to how it was before. I'm sorry if I'm meant to feel sympathy for Luis and the rest of the Royal family, but I really don't, they don't deserve Aidan's kindness. I'm getting pretty tired of their "woe is me" lamentations as if they had no part of the blame for what happened. To be honest I'm still a bit angry that Aidan came back to save the kingdom, because I knew they'd think he did it for them and not to save thousands of innocent lives that were put at risk by the "wise" king's utter stupidity. Okay, rant over. I still really like this story and I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays out.

When I Was Only 14 Years Old...

Why, you make it sound as if they were a bunch of lazy moochers who want to live the good life at taxpayers' expense instead of putting in an honest day's work. Surely that can't be what you're saying. 😉 That's okay, though. They'll cut taxes or something, and everything will be fine. -
Chapter 5: Aidan makes a mistake and strange occurrences.
Shadow086 commented on vanalas's story chapter in Chapter 5: Aidan makes a mistake and strange occurrences.
Yeah, Luis is an idiot for thinking the king would let him get away with cheating on Aidan. For all he knows, his granny could have told the king already. I hope the rest of the family is now starting to see how childish and unreasonable he's being. While I didn't think it would happen so soon, I had a feeling all this tension between the married couple would cause a spark once they kissed. I find it interesting that Luis was uncharacteristically caring and attentive to Aidan's pleasure as well as his own during the act. I have to wonder what his sleeptalking was about though, it feels to me like he's in denial about his feelings towards Aidan. As for Aidan's misadventures in the city, I'm glad he managed to escape unharmed but there's definitely something strange going on there. Does Luis have something to do with his headache and weird magic powers? It's all a pretty big coincidence. Can't wait to see what happens next! -
Okay, Luis really needs to get over himself, and his family needs to stop indulging his little tantrums, because so far I've seen no evidence that he's a "good man". Luis needs to accept that things don't always go his way, unless he wants to be the kind of king that that gets overthrown. I feel really bad for Aidan having to share a room and the rest of his life with that insufferable twat. But the queen said it best: does he want to spend the rest of his life being miserable, or does he want to try and make the marriage work on the slim hopes that it could turn into a happy one? That scene in the shower, though. There's clearly some spark between them, but will either or both of them have the courage to explore what it all means? Well, Luis probably won't since he'll be too busy whining about how unfair everything is...

Chapter 3: Unforeseen circumstances
Shadow086 commented on vanalas's story chapter in Chapter 3: Unforeseen circumstances
Geez, these royals only have two emotions: angry and really angry. I don't know if I'm supposed to feel any amount of sympathy for them, but I just can't seem to care about the "hardships" of these petty, entitled, bullies. Poor Aidan. I can't imagine how well it's gonna go when the king finds out Aidan ran away and sends his new husband to fetch him back. 😄 I also can't help but wonder what the king's reasoning is here. Maybe he saw first-hand how much of a spoiled brat Luis is and he's now hoping Aidan can get some sense into him, but who knows? I look forward to seeing how far Aidan gets before he's brought back. -
Great chapter Com! But you and your cliffhangers, ARGH, I can't wait to know what happens next... Looks like the escape plan was successful for now, but I don't know how they'll get out of this one, seeing how they're pretty much trapped on the roof. My feeling is that unless Wesley can somehow magically figure out how to transform at the last second, they're going to get some outside help to at least provide enough of a distraction for our two boys to be able to escape. No clue who or what that could be. I also have a feeling that a member of the pack may die in this confrontation. Not sure who it would be, but that would force Cyrus to retreat and regroup while Wesley makes his getaway. So many possibilities!

Chapter 33 - Boy Meets Boy Meets Boy
Shadow086 commented on Comicality's story chapter in Chapter 33 - Boy Meets Boy Meets Boy
Looks like the plan is working so far! At least, until Artie spills the beans about Tristan and Jesse. Is it even possible not to root for Scotty? Even when he's jealous he's super adorable. He'll probably be mad at Tristan for a while, but I think Artie can keep him busy. Another great chapter, I can't wait to see what happens next! -
Another great one, Com! It's great to see those two together, they're so adorable. If things go well between Gabe and Kyle, maybe they could even double date, wouldn't that be fun? As for that other boy Rory mentioned, his name wouldn't happen to be AJ, would it?
-
Poor Derrick, everyone is conspiring against him, lol. I'm happy with how people don't seem to really care about our two lovebirds right now. I'm sure the bullies will show up later on, but I get the feeling that a lot of students won't mind Tanner being gay, yet they'll have a problem with him choosing Derrick over all the other rich kids. As for Tanner's parents, I think it's safe to say that they won't be as accepting. Another great chapter, can't wait for more!
-
Isn't it weird how some people always say "Well that's different" when it comes time to follow their own advice? It's a great chepter, things are looking up, but at the same time I'm worried about what will happen when word of their being "out" gets back to Tanner's mom.
-
Finally caught up with this one! Another great chapter, the suspense is building. Things look bleak for Wesley, but you know what they say about cornered animals. I think Cyrus and his crew could be in for a surprise. On the other hand...while Wesley might make it to the truck, I don't think Isaac will.

Chapter 32 - The Wheels On The Bus
Shadow086 commented on Comicality's story chapter in Chapter 32 - The Wheels On The Bus
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear... That turned out about the way I was expecting, but I still feel so bad for poor Scotty. I guess he figured out Tristan is the one who left the message on Jesse's channel the day before. He tried sooooo hard to be all romantic and impress Tristan on this 'date', only to find out it was all for nothing, that's gotta hurt. He deserved to have a real shot after this, in my opinion. I think a little conversation with Scotty is in order, before Artie gets here. On the other hand, when Scotty sees ANY interaction with Tristan as this bold new step in their relationship, what could Tristan even DO that wouldn't lead him on? Another great chapter, Com! I'll be waiting with great anticipation to see if this afternoon becomes a dream or a nightmare. -
Chapter 31 - Giggles And Candy
Shadow086 commented on Comicality's story chapter in Chapter 31 - Giggles And Candy
What a sweet chapter, I loved it. Sounds like Scotty is treating this as a date. I'm hoping it goes well, he's so sweet and I don't want to see him get hurt. Great chapter, Com! -
Great short, Com! With all the stories about boys falling for their straight friends, it's refreshing to see things the other way around for a change. I have to say, Connor and Blake are soooo lucky it was his sister who caught them and not one of their friends. I was almost hoping she'd say something so they're more careful in the future, that stunt could have ended badly.

Looks like things are heating up! I love this story, it's so fun to read. Thanks, Com!
