Enjoying the story so far. I think Deon will come around more quickly than Charlie once he realizes that his animosity towards Tony isn't based on much of anything. Charlie's disdain is more of a mystery.

Jeff isn't likable, but it's hard to hate him. He is a product of the time and probably can't fathom another way of thinking. At least David might have uncle Tom if shit really hits the fan. He seemed like he might already know and be sympathetic. Regarding the timeline: I was thinking 70s, too, but after the clues in this chapter, I'm going to say summer 1985. 😁

I love this start, but I know better than to get sucked into a QuinnDK story!
