This is really good, an interesting take on the connection between ancient civilizations and aliens. The plot made me anxious about what happened next, the action is fast-paced, the mystery about the guardians is appealing... But I still have some questions:
1. Why did Master Edward choose George to be his apprentice? Guardians must know how to keep secrets, have a strong mental state to not be wavered by anything and be able to endure loneliness. How can Master Edward be sure George can do the work when he met George when George was just a child? It turns out that George slipped the secret to Jonathan, later to Samuel... Of course there's no harm, but what if Jonathan is not a good person? Isn't George just like Noah, let his emotion won over? How can we sure if George won't slip the secret to anyone else later in his life? He seemed really... not mentally strong at all.
2. The grand council I thought their last meeting was 6000 BC? Who are they, how long have they lived, they communicate with the guardians through mirrors or anything else? Speaking of mirrors, aren't there anything else passed from the ancient time?
3. The guardians, we don't know any other guardians except from Ashok (only mentioned a few times), Noah (very unreliable), the guy in Paris (he's the one I want to meet most, how can he not make any appearance...). I want to know their backgrounds, how they live with big secret, how their families deal with it,... I'm sorry George and Noah leave bad impression on guardians to me. Wait, the other guardians didn't even recognize there was a fake among them... It's dangerous when you live apart and can't see each other 's face... If only the mirrors were as modern as Skype.
4. The secret. The alien left their knowledge to human, so that when the time comes, human can leave Earth and find another planet... But what if at that time human's technology is better than the alien?
5. I don't think the tradition of passing the mission from father to the eldest son is suitable. Look at Noah (I'm sorry but I don't like him). But choosing randomly like Master Edward is not ok either. So what's the best way to choose apprentice?
I'm sorry I questioned too much, I just like reading ancient civilizations- related stories
