It was good!

I got pizza. Fresh and hot out of the oven. It was excellent. Happy National Pizza Day!

Little that is worthwhile is easy, but sometimes it would be nice.

I liked this also. I remember you showing me the article about the Wind Phone. I thought then it was a beautiful idea. Talking to those you've lost, helps to keep them alive in our memory. We aren't sure Chase has actually found a phone booth or if he's hallucinating. Either way, he has the opportunity to tell his brother how he feels. This has to help him in the long run. Another wonderful short piece.

You know what I think of this story. It's very well done and rips out the hearts of those of us who live this reality. There's a lot of pain, guilt and worry with no clear time lines and no real answers. We live with our ill and suffering loved ones as they go through this and drag us with them. Is it worth it? Right now, yes. Every clear moment, every smile, hug and kiss tells me it is. Will this last? I don't know but it shows me what is possible. I hope this story helps people understand. It is well written, honest, gritty and real. It's hard to read and it should be. I'm sure the winning story deserved it but this one deserves it as well. Congratulations.

This was brilliant. Best portrayal of police I've seen for a very long time. A sad story but it does not glorify the perpetrator of these crimes instead we learn about the people who were his victims. It's a moving story and one I recommend watching.

Yeah, I'm not much for super hot weather, except I can watch men in shorts. Other than that, it's not my cup of tea. However, having a backyard now makes it easier to bear. And the house has central air, so that's a bonus too.

Mmm, no more that usual, I don't think. I happen to like watching my boy model the underwear I buy him. LOL. Not sure how the doctor's feel.

Had some back issues, pretty bad ones, once upon a time. I went to a back clinic here, that's all they do and it was started by a back surgeon who thought surgery should be the last option. He employed skilled and knowledgeable physiotherapists who saw you first and referred to a surgeon if deemed necessary. I wasn't referred. I did however take their "understanding your back" course. The surgeon who ran that said, any one who tells you they can 'manipulate' your spine is lying to you. I have held spines in my hands (he was a big guy, like me) and I'll tell you now I cannot move them any other way beyond how they are meant to. He went on to say that we worry about our backs because we cannot see them. He said the closest bones/joints in your body to your back are your fingers. They only move, except for the very rare person, in one direction. He also said most people sent for surgery, don't need it. They need to exercise and be patient. And stay away from chiropractors. I learned a lot and I've had no real serious back issues since then.

Hmmm, maybe if I make a double batch they'll last long enough to get mellow. LOL

My favourites! I've even managed to make them myself. Frankly, don't recall the filling running through. I just followed what Sasha did (with tim's suggestions as well). We've never doubled the base and we didn't let it cool completely. It just cooled while the filling was made and then just poured in. (I'm asking tim about this as I write this). tim says he makes sure to press it in with wet fingers firmly right up to the corners and sides. I'm glad you enjoyed them. They were the first thing we made from Sasha's site. tim wonders if you had to cook the base longer which could have made it shrink a bit. Ten minutes doesn't seem enough to cook the base thoroughly to him. I'm glad you tried them. Hopefully, you'll have more success next time.

Carlos was a huge personality, and a caring guy. He will be missed. But tim is right. You can remember and honour him by carrying on. By helping each other and writing excellent stories. He and I spoke a few times over the years. He'll be missed.
