I'll let my nephew know. tim hasn't spoken four words since last night. Peter's behaviour was beyond shocking. Thankfully, my mother wasn't there to witness it.
-
We'd hoped for that. Sadly it was far from the truth and I am again dealing with the fallout.
-
Do you think he meant in or out of uniform? Either way, I'm sure it's something we can try. LOL

Things turn out all right for Jamie. Though he's a bit naughty paying off the criminal element to get information. Actually, it shows us he's human, fallible and not a supercop. Sometimes needs must. There's something going on here. It rather reminds me of the show, Wellington Paranormal. I think Morris-the wanker-Walker spells that out right here: neither the Hogwarts School of Wizardry nor the Professor Xavier’s School for Gifted Children. You will need to figure the extent of your abilities all by yourself, I am afraid.” I'm not the biggest of fiction fans, but this story is definitely worth reading.

A Lifechanging Encounter
MichaelS36 commented on lawfulneutralmage's story chapter in A Lifechanging Encounter
What is based on reality though, is the impact getting grounded has on dedicated police officers who have done nothing wrong. This happened to a colleague who was stopping an alleged drug dealer. Upon being stopped, the man swallowed his drugs packages and then died. This death caused an inquiry which cleared the officers involved and a court case which also cleared the officers involved. Yet my police force kept an internal investigation going for eight (!) years. Indeed, so unnecessary. Eight years is ridiculous especially after they were exonerated by the courts. Police actions should be examined and wrong doing punished, however, there should be some belief that the majority of officers are doing the right thing. That said, this was another great chapter. I'm enjoying the police procedure and the off-the-job story line as well. -
Hmmm, I'm not sure how I feel about tim aka @Mikiesboy helping out with the sex. I see @CassieQ helped out with that as well. The author has received an orgy of experience then! Seriously, it's an excellent chapter. The wonderful date at the restaurant. Frankly, not so keen on the bended knee thing, but that's fine. And the 'sex scene' feels natural and real. I like to have fun in bed or on the sofa, floor where ever. I enjoy talking to my lover and laughing together. It's nice to see sexual encounters written like this, rather than like watching porn.

I am grateful daily that you did not succeed in your effort, boy. I'm also grateful that life has become more meaningful, though I know you still don't understand it. I don't think many of us do. I see joy in you and spirit. And while we are not on this earth for a long time, we should endeavor to make it as meaningful as we can. I cannot answer why. I only know that doing so makes it easier to live each day. Life is easier when we can live it well. I'm no dreamer, I've seen the underworld, the unkind side of life, cruelty, hatred, poverty, it needs fixing. Truthfully, we live in a cesspool which needs to be repaired to be fair and good for all. But how? Until we manage that herculean task, we need to help each other as best we can. Some of that fortitude has to come from the spark within us. Sometimes we need help to find it. Sometimes we need to see the bottom of the barrel to know there's something better. You're so right when you say that people can be our salvation. Life is what me make it, but it's better when we do that together.

Very tempted to say something here, lol, but I'll behave.

Enjoyed this chapter also. I smiled at Mike's responses to Nam's questions as related to Jamie. This scene was great: I’m sorry if that insults your heterosexuality, but I’m finding you extremely attractive, and I’ve had enough of suffering being here next to you.” Mike turned to me and grabbed my stab vest by the shoulder. He pulled me closer and next thing I knew, his lips were on mine. Time seemed to stand still. Forgotten was the fact that we were in a marked police car. In the middle of Enfield High Street. With blue lights flashing. Any doubts Jamie may have had should be resolved by that kiss! Everyone should have a kiss like that once in their life.

Yes, they excel at spreading rumours! Internally, there were some colleagues that didn't agree that gay was okay. Often it didn't matter if they actually knew or not, they'd decide someone was gay or different and try to give them a hard time. How did people know? Well, I had my husband, tim aka @Mikiesboy, who I'd mention just as others mentioned their wives and families. We also had an internal LGBT Liason officer and we worked the Gay Pride March annually. It just becomes known that so-and-so is gay. I've never hidden my orientation, from anyone. However, I'm lucky that where I live is very accepting of others. I do understand why some people don't live their real life. Members of the public often didn't know. Most of the trouble if any, came from people who'd come to know me as a beat cop, or if they attended some Gay Pride event I was working.

As an ex-police officer who was openly gay, it can be a challenge. Toronto is more accepting generally, but there were challenges both internally and externally. That said, I, like Jamie, didn't hide. Why should we? This opening chapter was an enjoyable and memory evoking. I look forward to more.

I don't know about needing to think of them. I also don't know about what lies beyond our world. It was interesting and I prefer to think of them reaching out to us, just as you say. Thanks kbois.

It was interesting. We did have a spate of strange things happening in the apartment. They especially seemed to surround the dog.

So, this is a little odd. I'm not one for making things up or for having hallucinations. I don't use drugs other than my diabetic prescription and never have. My life is fact based. I was a detective for a number of years and a successful one. Where is this going? Here ... I am a night owl. I'm often up to 2 a.m. I enjoy the quiet after the boy and other husband have gone to bed. Last night it seems we had a visitor, or some extremely strange anomaly. On one of our wall units are tim's mum's urn and a keepsake of my dad. Both contain human ashes. Next them is a small battery operated votive candle. The battery has been dead for sometime and it was switched off. It was still switched off when it came on was lit brightly at about 1:30 a.m. It remained on for about five minutes. tim tried to switch it on today, nothing happened and that's because the battery needs to be changed. So, a sign from loved ones, or a freaky happening? Logically, I'd say anomaly, but my heart prefers the former.

An wonderful, imaginative tale of love, hate, kidnap, and kindness. A worthwhile read. -

I'm very sorry to hear this. It's difficult to deal with. I wish you and your family peace and hope for a good outcome for your brother.
