  1. I believe Stephen King said it best ... you write a story one word at a time. If you need help, perhaps you should read people's responses to you. You can also click on HELP which is located at the top if every page.
  2. Yes, you're right of course. Nothing much may happen to him. The hard part is he's seen covid patients in hospital. Sees them coming in younger and younger. And so he's scared to some extent. His appointment is early tomorrow, then more waiting for the results.
  3. I'm not feeling too bad today, bit of a headache. Poor tim. Nothing happens to him in half measures. Bit of a fever, body aches ... poor guy. Those are positive things of course, vaccine wise. I put a loaf of bread on, sent him for a nap, promising to wake him when it was time to shape it for the pan. he is so much better at those things than I am with my huge paws. Well, I went and looked at him about that time and he was sleeping. I left him. It isn't a perfect loaf, but like my boy said, it's bread, it'll be good. Hope you're all doing okay.
  4. Peter called. Bf has tested positive. Peter goes Friday for a test. tim is a wreck and I am pretending I'm fine.
  5. First vaccination complete. Hope you're all doing well.
  6. And some amazing and welcome news. I'd registered us both as we are both in the at risk groups. We'll get our first vaccinations this week. What a relief.
  7. Thanks, Mac. Glad to see you've received your first vaccine. Hope you are are keeping well.
  8. Belated greetings to @Reader1810 and @mollyhousemouse (mollypop) from the both of us. I am sorry we are late. I hope you both had a lovely day. One of us is not in the best of places and I am tasked to monitor him. So please forgive us both. Take care and Happy Birthday.
  9. I am beyond tired of our Provincial government and their weak answer to Covid. Now we are on an "emergency break". It means very little is going to change. They know it's illness of our essential workers driving this latest spike, yet, we do nothing to help them. No paid sick time, no vaccines. Frankly, I used to be a proud Canadian. Now? Not so much. Our true colours are showing.

    Hope

I hope this change spreads to our surprisingly messed up and seemingly backward country. To say it's frustrating watching GB and the USA getting things done and a smaller country like ours can't seem to get it at all right, is an understatement. We go out for walks again now, but we keep away from others ... cases of covid back up in the 2,000s per day again. Most won't even dare to look at you and smile. Fearful of what? I don't really know. They tell us variants are the cause and people seeing others outside their households is a huge part also. I want to hope, but it feels awfully futile.
  11. It just never ends, does it? There will always be idiots. Be more helpful to add bags of kitty litter and salt to the back of his truck. Cinder blocks (the unflying variety) aren't too helpful when you're stuck without traction. Thanks, but there's no need to thank me. I was a cop, still am inside. No, I don't pretend I am but that service oriented thing has always been part of who I am. My husband needed me around more, and he needed the man he'd married, not who I was becoming. So, leaving wasn't really a difficult choice.
  12. As an ex-cop from a snowy and icy place in winter, please stay home. When you end up in a ditch or an accident due to icy and poor road conditions, it's the police and fire who have to risk their lives to save yours. STAY HOME. Yes, it was my job and the reason I learned how to drive in those conditions, but most people don't know how to, or don't bother with decent snow tires. @Starrynight22 I hope you don't have to sleep at work, but you're should be commended for your dedication and forward thinking.
  13. Excellent work.
  14. You also, Fae. Take care of yourself.
  15. Indeed, molly. you are correct of course. Look for the good. Be kind. Others cannot make us happy, but we certainly can.
  16. This is very true. No one's life is always happy. This search for constant happiness is flawed and unreal and can only end in disappointment. Each of us will have moments of joy, pleasure, contentment, sadness, anger .. all of it. With luck, the good will outweigh the not so good.
  17. Rest and get better. The door here is always open for you.
  18. Hope you are well and coping. Here's to a not too stressful week.
  19. Excellent. I enjoyed this short glimpse. I think agree with the others who'd like a little bit more. Great job, tim. xo
