  1. I am sorry to hear this. We are facing a difficult time. It affects our lives, health, and ability to cope. Sometimes we have to make difficult choices. Sometimes we need to remain silent for awhile, while we come to terms with our pain and thoughts. And that's normal and okay. It's good you have chosen to share. This group of people are always here and willing to listen and support. It's a wonderful thing and a wonderful place. You need to do what is right for you, to keep yourself sane and healthy. I wish you peace and strength, rick.
  2. This new dentist is quite good. I'm frankly surprised about this. I'll go with tim next time. This mess has upset his day, and I'm not happy about what he had to go through. Thanks for you kind words of support. It will be different next time, or it will be our final visit there.
  3. I can eat that, however, I do not enjoy grapes so I wouldn't. But thanks for sharing.
  4. I married a treasure. tim knows I love sweets and desserts. Often we just have fresh fruit, but he does go out of his way to make and develop things to give me treats. tim is slim and healthy and does not need to eat what I do, but he does. he refuses to eat any differently. Marriage, relationships are not easy. We choose to be together and to support each other. We choose it everyday. The pecan pie was different, but recognizable and enjoyable. I am a lucky man, and a happy one.
  5. Take care. I hope both of you start to feel better quickly and that your husband's cold is only that.
  6. Glad you are safe and sound, renee.

I'm sure he'll be happy to know that, Parker. Thanks.
  12. For those interested in English history, I can recommend this to you. If you have not experienced Mark Rylance, he is an incredible actor. He's won many BAFTA's and even A Best Supporting Actor Oscar for Bridge of Spies with Tom Hanks (an excellent film). This is the first in the trilogy: Wolf Hall Mark Rylance is Thomas Cromwell, Damian Lewis is Henry VIII Excellent series, wonderful locations and acting. Wolf Hall

you tell us what you see happening in the world and I know the pain that these wrongs bring you. Never stop telling us what you see and what you feel. However, be gentle with yourself.
  14. We are very sorry to hear this, Fae. If I should die and leave you here a while, be not like others sore undone, who keep long vigils by the silent dust, and weep. For my sake – turn again to life and smile, nerving thy heart and trembling hand to do something to comfort weaker hearts than thine. Complete these dear unfinished tasks of mine and I, perchance may therein comfort you. - Mary Lee Hall
  15. We're okay here, thank you. You look after yourself. It is a rough week for many of us. Please stay strong and know you can get through it.
  16. I hope you all are well. Take care of each other.
  17. Don't look for tim for the next day or so.
  18. I hope her passing is peaceful. I am sorry. We rarely let go of life easily. I wish you and your family peace.
  19. I'm sure you are not this way, but many parents see to think all 'teaching' should be done by the school. While parents have huge opportunities to teach at least the basics ... colours, counting, alphabet and reading.
  20. I'm sorry you have to go through this, my friend. Lean on each other.
  21. How do you social distance playing football? Frankly, I believe going ahead with this type of sport is irresponsible. I am only glad I do not have children who need to return to school. I believe this type of sport is not going to be allowed in schools here, thankfully. In fact, Berlin opened it's schools less than two weeks ago and they already report 41 cases in them.
  22. And now... my wonderful, talented husband has baked spider bread to go with his chili. So, I think I shall go and eat it.
  23. THIS... is profound... Sometimes meanings are clear, sometimes they are not. People who want to write what they think a poem means, can, but i've written what i feel or see. Because it is mine to do that with. Once it's posted and you read it ... it is yours. That you see or feel differently to me, or other readers doesn't make my work less.. in fact it is more and that is the beauty of art. - tim landon

    Teachings

For you, molly.... you 'do' just by being.... Sonnet 19: When I consider how my light is spent By John Milton When I consider how my light is spent, Ere half my days, in this dark world and wide, And that one Talent which is death to hide Lodged with me useless, though my Soul more bent To serve therewith my Maker, and present My true account, lest he returning chide; “Doth God exact day-labour, light denied?” I fondly ask. But patience, to prevent That murmur, soon replies, “God doth not need Either man’s work or his own gifts; who best Bear his mild yoke, they serve him best. His state Is Kingly. Thousands at his bidding speed And post o’er Land and Ocean without rest: They also serve who only stand and wait.” @Mikiesboy wonderful poems ... xo
