Thank you for thinking so highly on my story! For some reason I don't understand, as you explained the meaning of the word pedantic, the elevator scene with Winona Ryder having Ethan Hawke explaining the word 'irony' in Reality Bites came to mind. Or maybe there was no clear reason! Just weird how the mind works!
All implemented, and they were useful. Except the handle/treat. Treat appears to sound a little better. I'm glad they weren't more. Just for the record, when I do go through the text before publishing it, there are plenty more others. For each one you listed here, there were at least several more.
It's great that readers can find such imagery in this story! I'm constantly influenced by what I'm reading or I've read, so this particular chapter might have had something to do with a certain feeling I got while reading Dennis Lehane's Live by Night.
Jared's story won't stop here, as it happens to everyone. He has all his life in front of him Adrian ... well, I'll let that be a surprise. Buckle up for the next chapter. I think it will be quite the ride
As for Mike ... have trust in him (and that's all I'll say, he-he).
Thank you for the comment!
If you pointed out the mistakes you noticed, it would be more helpful. Otherwise, there's nothing for me to learn from your comments. And I don't understand what you mean about ignoring you. I think I repaired the shiny/shining armor mistake, and even replied to you. Of course, I might be wrong since when there are many notifications, I might skip some by mistake.

The venue definitely had an indie vibe, with its paper lights hanging from the ceiling, and refurbished furniture that looked like it had been saved from some dumpster somewhere. Mason sat gingerly, afraid that the old wood might just give up under his weight. Rhys grinned at him. “What are you so spooked about?”
“Spooked? Just worried that the chair won’t hold me.”
Surprisingly, the table cloth was real cloth, and so were the napkins. The light was insu
Hey, thanks a lot! Edward's notion of fun, oh, boy :)) How about Mike getting Ryan
... and Chris might get what he deserves regardless of Jared's actions!
Ah, please don't be so hard on Rhys; his life wasn't easy. But you're right about Ary, Levine ... and Billy. As for Toby's fault, that's something that remains to be seen
Nothing is ever accidental ... at least, in fiction! There is a connection between all the characters that are given screen time, so keep that thought in mind!
Chapter Eight – The Only Wound That Matters
“After you died? Are you sure?” Mason whispered and threw an anxious look toward the bathroom door. The sound of water running probably masked whatever it was said in the room, but he didn’t want to risk having Rhys question his sanity.
Toby nodded slowly, his eyes never leaving the wall covered in quotes. “It’s strange, and it feels like it must have happened long before the month I believe I’ve been around, as I told you.”
Mason looked at
