Well, Aidan's boss will have to live with a lot of things now, that's for sure! I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter! -

Ha-ha-ha, I promise, all will be good in the end! Consider me as some sort of conductor that tells you to hop on board and then omits to tell you we're going to take the 'scenic' route, lol! But, I promise you, I'll take you to the destination, and at the end of it all, you'll be - mostly - unharmed! -

Enjoy the rest! It is well deserved! -
Chapter Twenty-Six - Meet The Stones (And Some Pebbles) Aidan was a complete wreck on the inside as he parked his car in front of Heathcliff’s house. He had barely caught any sleep and, in the morning, he had made a run for it, without even eating breakfast, which had been received with a frown by Heathcliff. He had pondered, over and over, what to say. He couldn’t make things worse if he wanted to. But he had, and now it was time to assume responsibility. Going back on what he said was

That was quite an insightful analysis. After all, Aidan does deserve more, and yet, his boss doesn't care about that, just trying to downplay his success and even dedication to the company's success just so that he doesn't pay Aidan more. There are some reasons for Aidan's insecurity, and I just want to remind everyone that I believe I said something in previous comments about how honesty is one of the themes of the story. Until the story is finished, just feel free to speculate what I mean by that, lol!
-
Well, someone's shrewd indeed ... I'm not saying anything more, just that you're the first to come up with this so far
-
High five then! I'm so happy when people get my - bad - jokes!
-
Hey Mike, I'm glad to hear from you! I'm also glad you're on Heath's side, although Aidan might argue here, lol! Yes, he's the more mature in the relationship, and he caught on everything first. However, Aidan will continue to progress, too. And the next chapter will come with what I think will be a pretty big surprise. I'm telling you, it's almost close to impossible for anyone to even guess what crossed my crazy mind!
-
Oh, damn, I have my work cut out for me, haven't I? I hate to disappoint you, but this story won't go too far over the 30-chapter mark (But I have other crazy stories to tell, so I'm sure you'll forgive me)

Hmm, hmm, some may argue that you should work on what's called post-coital bliss ... ugh, that sounds so clinical right? Then maybe it's better to high-five your hookup!
-
Lololol, but, seriously now, that could be a niche, too!
-
Oh, damn, that means that I would be old and gray and still writing the same story, lol!
-
Ha-ha-ha, funny! Let's just hope Aidan in his 50s is still as attractive to Heath as he is now!
-
Ha-ha-ha, that's true! Now Aidan truly needs to make a smart move. Will he? (I wonder ...)
-
That he is
-
I'd say naive, but Heath is pissed and has every right to be
-
Your guesses may be right ... although, as always, you make my day by seeing more into my story than I put in it. I tend to think you're quite a talented reader!
-
Hmm, Aidan will have a better plan than that, and it's a pinky promise! They won't dance around for too long, and I hope you'll like the next chapter!
-
He-he-he, Wes, as always, your reactions put a smile on my face. Oh, is that a spider? The look in those eyes ...
-
I lol'ed so hard at this comment. Yes, the 'buddy' part was so uninspired, and coming from someone who's supposedly in the creative business, that's bad, that's very bad. I understand all that you have against Aidan at this point. I hope the next chapter will make it all better
-
Hmm, you're on to something here ... I won't say what. As for the frustration part, my many, many apologies. It won't take long until the conclusion, and yes, without any fear of spoilers, Aidan will grow a pair
-
I'm afraid so, yes, but there are not that many chapters left of the story, so this torture won't continue for long, I promise!
-
What I have in store for the next chapter might be even better than that I hope you will like the surprise! Also, since the 'hate'-y part was followed by 'dearest author', my heart is at peace! Junior advertising copywriter is one step up for Aidan, as he was just a simple assistant before, and it would supposedly open the door for being part of the creative team. I just thought that his boss wouldn't want to give him too much, too fast, being the scumbag that he is, lol!

Chapter Twenty-Five - High Five! His agent wiped his forehead with a pristine white handkerchief and, with studied gestures, folded it and put it back into his pocket as if he was trying to buy more time. Heathcliff tapped the desk with his fingers, knowing well that the small rhythmic sound was getting on Harry’s nerves. “Why now, Heathcliff?” Harry asked him in a sugary voice like he felt the need to appease his client. Heathcliff shrugged. “I believe I proved myself and my influen
