  1. You should see my legwork! Ha-ha, not really, I wouldn't dream of boxing, lol! I leave it all to Snake!
  2. I guess there's no better way to put it, Dave!
  3. Ha-ha, I'm glad to see you alive and kicking! Even if you may want to do some of the kicking at me! As for your plea, let's say that it doesn't fall on deaf ears. Still, expect the torture to continue for a little while. Hugs!
  4. You're not far off the mark I did some research and the hidden ingredient is something close to what you're suspecting (I'm talking about sugar, not caffeine). I know a bit about what requirements are, although not in detail, and I also know how much manufacturers try to hide what their products contain. Sugar is, indeed, one of the top suspects, because it's so easy to prolong shelf life, and also make everything taste better. Take peas, for instance. Where I live, canned peas that have sugar and not just salt, taste, indeed, better (in the sense that they're sweeter), but they shouldn't taste that good. After all, veggies and legumes have their own taste, and even if a tad bland, it shouldn't be modified like this.
  5. And I thought I could just sneak under the radar and blame Aidan of it all! Do your best, lol! I dodge well!
  6. I'm glad none of the caps are directed at me! Man-child is a good name for Aidan, yes. But Heath will work on his end, don't worry. Just wait and see! And seriously, thank you for not throwing anything at me!
  7. Chapter Twenty-Eight – Drinks And Trolls Won’t Break My Bones “What is it, son?” Heathcliff drew one deep breath. Aidan was upset, and he needed someone with real-life experience to help him deal with this. Rushing after Aidan felt like a bad idea, and he needed to have someone look at the situation and tell him where he had gone wrong. “I got into a fight with Aidan.” He waited for a moment. “I’m listening,” his father replied. “Good.” Heathcliff let out an audible exha
  8. You are right about Aidan, but he needs a little more time to grow. Of course he should have seen it all, about his boss and all that, and he will have the chance to experience it soon. How he will grow out of his naivete or if, I guess that remains to be seen As for Aidan's mom, more about her and with her, later. Thanks for commenting, Timmy!

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Well, you have at least one long-form story finished to read!

    Chapter 22

Thank you! For all the comments you left for this story!
  11. Hmm, you're getting warm ... You'll see! As for Penguin Pants, I didn't give him much thought, since he's basically just a throw-away character!
  12. I guess this reaction sums it all up!
  13. Hmm, that's a good idea, right? (About Heath's company, I mean) As for Aidan, I totally agree with you that he needs a bit of time to see things clearly. But will he? Now that is the question Thank you for all your support along the way!
  14. Exactly! I love it when readers can explain my characters' action better than I do!

    Chapter 16

How and if that happens, you'll find out later

    Chapter 14

You're right ... my bad! Fixed now Thank you!
  17. That might be true, yes. The characters need this little crisis, I believe.
  18. In real life, I agree that little white lies may have their role. But, as they say, fiction is not real life, and I just want to remind everyone that honesty is one of the main themes of this little story! (And Aidan would have found the truth, anyway. No escape for Heath!)
  19. Well, that's correct, and we both know Heath is far from perfect. I always aim for making characters expose their flaws so that they could grow. As for all being typically male, I'm glad I succeeded presenting that!
  20. Yes, Heath's mistake is not telling about what he talked about and his role in Aidan's promotion. Still, Aidan is coming from somewhere here, not that I take his side, but I felt it was natural for him to protest since succeeding on his own is essential for me. Of course, he's a stubborn little ... let's not use profanities, he-he, but in his head, he feels he is right. As for your guess, I'm afraid I'll have to disappoint you. Next time, you'll know who Heath called, and I hope it would make sense. Your theory wasn't bad at all, but, well, the story is already written Thank you for your insightful comment!
  21. Probably Penguin Pants won't appreciate it, but it's through hardship that we all learn, isn't it? As for the rest, I totally agree!
  22. It's good to know I have your support through everything! Thank you!
