  1. I voted on the second option. November and December are my extremely busy months really, but I'd like to go. I just probably wouldn't be able to make it realistically. Anyway, SF is one of the many places I'd want to travel to in the U.S though so maybe that would be my motivation. Krista
  2. Hey, I started out writing because my friends thought I had some talent and kind of pushed me to do it. It wasn't really something I did a lot of before I started posting online. I saw that it helped me in my own writing as I got into college and my Professors actually liked my essay papers and such. Now I'm kinda hooked on it, but before that I was always a reader. I believe I found Nifty a while ago, right after graduation I think as my friend told me about it and such. Anyway, I started writing three novels along with one gay themed one just for my friends and it took off from there. I'll not ever post the one gay themed story I started out writing for them.. lol. As it was pretty pathetic. Another form of motivation was Yahoo Groups and realizing it was a good place to get an idea of how many liked my writing style and such so I started my first story to post online then. As for my writing being a need or a want, it's more of just a hobby that I do. It could be practice if I was ever really inspired to do a full novel for publishing, but right now I have no real desire to be published so it's just a hobby. Krista
  3. This story is just grand, I loved it. Mythology is always interesting, and putting a story together along the lines of Ancient Egypt is entertaining to no end. The symbolism and structure was believable as I would think it difficult to write a story that stands up to Mythology, but you accomplished that. Well done. Krista
  4. Lol.. agreed, alcohol and mass gatherings don't typically mix do they. We'll never have a Convention until you can all AGREE on a place. By reading most of the posts here, I believe Texas is the place most people like. Other than Las Vegas, and Saturn's Moons. Krista

    Just a second

Hey Nick, Everyone of us have had times, many times, where we've contemplated the way that we're doing things. With us as authors our characters and such come into play with our writing and our writing styles. So that when people are judging our stories people are also judging us. Not really as people, but sometimes it's hard to take. I know I've personally been compared to a lot of different authors. I'm sure you have as well. I remember being compared to an author. The person listed everything that the author does and everything that I fell short on in comparison. Let me tell you, I fell short on a lot of them, if not everything he mentioned. That I needed to do a lot of different things before I can call myself a writer and such. I've not done any of those as I'm not that author. I wouldn't want to be. Anyway, what needs to be understood is that none of us are the same person. To expect the same thing isn't fair and isn't really respecting what we do in our writing. I only asked him after everything he said was, "Are you a fan of me?" When he answered, "Yeah, I am," I left it at that. Even if he had said no it wouldn't have changed anything. I've learned to stop trying to please everyone and started working on writing the stories that I set out writing. The way that I wanted to, the ideas that I had, and the characters that are part of them. I don't turn a blind eye on criticim, only comparisons. Take all the time you need to settle and do everything so that you can continue writing. You bring something to the site, even if that ONE person doesn't appreciate it. Krista
  7. The pic is beautiful James. Krista

  11. Hey, I've been meaning to open up Discussion forums for all of my stories, but you've beat me to it with this one. Lol. Welcome to my Forum and thanks for reading, "He Got To Me." The story is currently on hold as I'm only taking one story on at a time. I will get back to it, I promise. I just took on too much at one time and all the stories were beginning to get away from the place I wanted them to be. Krista
  12. Hey Menzo! Lol, I believe you're the first person to say anything bad about Brett. I can understand though, sometimes a person like Brett could be hard to take. Will is my favorite character of the story as well actually. Thanks for the comment, Krista

  18. This was really good, it was wordy, but in a delicate way that pulled me right into it. So the author is really talented and it is about a City that is unique. Krista
  19. Lol. I don't know what I'd do with gambling, it may not mix well with me. I've never been, but VEGAS is a place I want to visit. Krista
  20. YES! Spas and Shopping.. lol. I like your thinking. - I would say, Kentucky, but I'd not want people to laugh at me. - Definitely not the place to have a convention. I like my state and all, but it's kinda boring. A convention doesn't really have to be just a gathering, it could be held some place public of course like say, Disney Land for those of us that would be a little shy. Then just have a PLAN for the Members that are there, like Meeting up for a day or so. Krista
  21. Hey, Lol, people just normally drop their unwanted kittens and such on our road since no one lives down it really. I only have like three neighbors and they have the same dropping of animal problems. So I just normally take them in feed them and such then I take them to the Humane Society. I kept a box full of kittens and puppies I found back in the winter. Those are the ones I recently took to the Humane Society. The three huskies were taken to a Husky Rescue place, but someone adopted the three of them together since they had a separation anxiety as the three are so close. Now that I'm in the Fostering program I'll get a new kitten or puppy as a needed basis. As soon as the fostering of the animal is complete I can vollunteer to take another need on or not. It's really a good program and all Humane Societies have it I believe. Tomorrow is when I get the 3 kittens and their mommy. Krista

Aww, Jesse sounds like a good guy. I'm glad he was able to get some help and hopefully he'll pull through and feel better. I've also been wanting to see the Chuck and Larry movie... lol. Which is rare as I'm not an Adam Sandler fan for the most part. Krista
  23. Everyone needs a break from things from time to time. To clear the air and the mind to refresh and do things you've been meaning to do and such. Then come back and feel better. Krista
