'Lady Janice' finally got her full time crew on the Tuesday after she was launched. They had all been due back in time for the launch, but only arrived from Europe on Monday afternoon, their flight having turned into a marathon two day saga due to mechanical problems, which resulted in a return to Heathrow, and then being hit by a massive winter storm that turned England into a winter wonderland, but one where virtually all modes of transport ground to a halt. They finally managed to escape the

The weekend after the reopening of Drakensberg Resort, the new owners were very pleasantly surprised when, while perusing the Sunday newspapers, they came across a very complimentary write up on the resort in the travel section of the paper. There were photographs of the new rooms, public areas and gardens, as well as an interview with Larry. The article spoke glowingly of the upgrade the resort had received and how it had breathed new life into the old dowager, a reference taken from Andrew's

Janice had arrived, just after Yvonne had cleared lunch, with Rascal who was in danger of seriously damaging his back with the way he was wriggling it back and forth and whipping his tail. But the little mutt was sooooo pleased to see his humans again and had a happy canine smile on his face. And, of course, no one was allowed to be out of his sight. Janice was staying the night as David was away on a seniors golfing tour on the Garden Route. Andrew and Ryan both returned to the office the

Great start to a new book and the new year. Looking forward to much more.

Andrew and Ryan tumbled out of bed as the sound of the explosion reverberated back from the hills surrounding the bay. They quickly pulled on shorts and T-shirts, then Ryan told Andrew, "Get the children! I'll be right behind you!" Andrew ran out the cabin and as he neared the stairs to the lower deck he looked through the main salon out towards the stern. Thick black smoke billowed over the aft deck and the orange tops of flames were visible as well. Then he hurtled down to the lower

Despite the ardent bedroom athletics of the night before both Andrew and Ryan were awake quite early, their internal body clocks remaining as reliable as ever, even though they were on holiday. At first Ryan thought it was earlier than it actually was, the light just seemed to be wrong. He checked the bedside clock which confirmed that it was just after 6am, then rolled out of bed and walked, stark naked, to the windows next to the small cabin seat-ing area on the starboard side, opened the cur

Thanks Anton. As i have said before , your comments are highly valued. It's so annoying when you are still editing and comments start popping up on the page. Then I end up rushing things and not all the errors are picked up. I know that is no excuse, but it is what it is.

Thanks Chris. See all my previous replies. This chapter was actually quite fiddly to write. A sort of (in my opinion) a nothing chapter that had to be written for the story to progress in the future. Glad you enjoyed it nevertheless.

The Devlin-Majors are in for a very hectic festive season. So 'Lady Janice' will be getting a thorough test before she sails to Mauritius to begin her cruising life.

Hi @drsawzall. Most definitely! I will say that "Walk on" is approaching its ending. But book 3 ( as yet untitled) is in the works. Lots of rough notes already done.
-
Thanks @pvtguy. Yes, exciting times ahead. thanks for reading and commenting.

Apologies to those who read the initial upload. The chapter published while I was still doing the edit after the upload on to the site, WITHOUT ME HITTING THE 'PUBLISH NOW' button. So frustrating!

Their departure from Achnacarry this time was far less traumatic compared to the one in January after the funeral. Everyone was in high spirits, and Iona in particular, seemed to have processed the loss of her daughter to a large extent. The fact that it was quite obvious that Jamie and Fiona were very happywith their circumstances aided the situation a great deal. That, and the prospect of a visit to Cape Town at the end of November to partake in the shakedown cruise for the new yacht with Ke
