    Chapter 12

Thanks guys. Not a great fan of cliffhangers myself, but just couldn't resist.
  3. The weekend was a fairly chilled one. The weather was glorious, the summer moving into that period where the southeaster doesn't blow as much, instead just being a soft cooling breeze. Marge was working her first weekend, so they had Byron with them during the day. She took him to The Cameron with her when she started her shift at 7am, and then dropped him off at the house at 9am after he had eaten breakfast with her. The three children spent the morning in the playroom watching movies and af

    Chapter 11

Andrew and Ryan are firm believers in the mantra " Happy staff make happy guests". Thus just reinforces their policy

    Chapter 11

Hi folks. Once again my apologies for the late publication of this chapter. I spent the day in bed today and had the time to do a polish and edit. I notice a few of you have already read the chapter as it appeared in its initial saved form on the site. Not sure if everyone can see the notification or whether it's just the authors, but we have been advised to not edit a chapter after posting, but to publish and then edit. So some of you might not have read the final edited version. Thank you all.
  9. When Andrew and Ryan arrived home that evening, Yvonne was just finish off the it dinner and the house smelled amazing, redolent with the aroma of Indian spices. She had made pickled fish, enough to last a few days at least, which was fine because the spicy, vinegary sauce it was in acted as a preservative, and the longer the fish lay in the sauce, the better it tasted. To go with that, she had baked a fresh seed bread and there was a platter with sliced avocado. As she was saying goodbye befo

    Chapter 10

Apologies that Chapter 11 is late folks. Been a bit under the weather this week and the final edit is not complete. Will post as soon as it is done
  11. Carlos, fantastic chapter. I loved the reference to Dirk Pitt (if I am not mistaken)
  12. It was with mixed feelings of relief that they were safe and going home, and no small amount of sadness that they disembarked from 'Amira' at midday the next day. The experience of weathering the cyclone had really bonded the crew of 'Amira' to the Devlin-Major 'family'. It was an extraordinary situation that Michael and his crew had handled with extraordinary professionalism and aplomb. Andrew and Ryan had sought out each of them prior to their departure off the yacht to personally pass on

    Chapter 28

@Lwj, thank you for all your reactions and comments. I haven't replied to them all, mainly because they were coming so fast, I was battling to keep up. Thank you, too, for taking the time to read 'Never walk alone'. I'm thrilled that you enjoyed it. Hope you enjoy Book 2 just as much.

    Chapter 9

For bigger vessels, being at sea is probably safer as they have room to move if something goes wrong. In port, they are 'boxed in". For smaller vessels, being in port is safer.
  15. 'Amira' ploughed gracefully through the almost flat sea. The further they sailed from land, the calmer the tropical sea became and it made for idyllic sailing. The mood was relaxed and easy with everyone just enjoying the balmy tropical weather. So far, they had been extremely lucky with the weather, having had days of perfect sunshine and blue skies. There was, however, a tropical depression forming north east of the Chagos Archipelago and Diego Garcia which Michael was keeping a wary eye on. I

Ha ha. Thanks Anton. Your comments are much appreciated, as is everyones. Good luck with the renovation.

    Chapter 8

I really like writing about Cam & Elizabeth. To a very large extent, they have no filter as such, so one never knows what they're going to say next.

    Chapter 8

Thanks @GazzaK. Pleased that you are enjoying it. Be safe in storm ridden UK. Seems the storms are just lining up.

    Chapter 8

In my mind, they are probably slightly ahead of their ages in development, mainly because the adults around them speak to them like adults. But it's a fine line between being well developed and cute, instead of just plain, precocious.

    Chapter 8

Hi @ColumbusGuy. Thank you for your comment and please you enjoyed reading "Never walk alone". Hope you enjoy book 2 as much. The cultures are very integrated into society although I would say that Afrikaans has taken a bit of a back seat since we came out of the Apartheid era. English is the preferred language for most of the population. although I would add that this is only my observation and opinion

    Chapter 7

Thank you @Summerabbacat. Please see my previous reply to @mansexlover. Writing about him, to is certain extent is cathartic, but the memories remain

    Chapter 7

Thanks @drsawzall. That first paragraph you quoted says it all. They are soul mates in every sense of the word.

    Chapter 7

Thanks @mansexlover. Rascal is so easy to write about, but also so difficult. Easy, because his antics are still so clear in my mind, even though he's been gone nearly 3 years now. Difficult, because of the memories those antics bring back
