I have to admit, I needed to let this one process for a little while. It was hard reading through the graphic description of torture. But in the end, the author did a great job of building a society and characters that readers can emphasize with. While I'm not a huge fan of violence or torture in a story, the only thing that really makes me stop reading (or watching a movie) is when they kill the dog. Then I'm out of there. I can see this chapter developing into a more intricate story and expanding into a larger world. Good work SA.

There will always be those people whose sole purpose in life is to be miserable. I know a few and because they are family, I limit my interactions with them. On a lighter note.... I'm wearing a pair of Christmas leggings for pajama pants. Why? Because I can. 😁

I agree. There are many times I've read something here and either the writing or the content is just not good. I can't find it in myself to criticize anyone in the comments. A few chapters into my first story I had someone message me and basically tell me I had no business writing and posting such crap. I almost stopped because of that. I'm not gonna lie... it hurt. But, I saw that others were posting positive comments so I merely thanked the person for their opinion and told them to stop reading. To this day I still question everything I write, always wondering if it's any good or not. Try not to be discouraged. There are plenty of members who aren't negative. Or... at least I hope so! Speaking of writing, I think I'm finally past my writer's block. I have a story to finish and I hear my laptop calling me.

This is currently the hottest streak of weather I have ever endured. We've had three weeks of temps in the 90s with heat indexes over 100. Most days the humidity is like a swamp. Considering a high % of the men in Florida are over the age of 65..... well, let's just say it's not worth looking at.

That teacher needed a kick in the ass! I had all the Little House books. Sean Cassidy poster on the wall. Horse posters everywhere. Lassie poster over my bed... cried every time I read the books or watched one of the movies and the damn dog came crawling/running over the hill as she came home. I was at the library at least once a week, if not twice. I hated that they limited you to 5 books. I could plow through that in 2 days. I ❤️ reading!

Okay... I definitely want more dammit. As a kid I was addicted to reading. Any book with horses in it was a must read. Mystery series.... wasn't into Nancy Drew, but me and my best friend both had the entire Trixie Belden series which was about 36 books I think. So, yes.... this needs more chapters and closure. Gotta find out who done it! As far as who's who for these stories? I think I might have 2 figured out. Longshot guesses on 2 others. Whatever it turns out to be, we've had some great stories thrown our way. Only a few more to go!

I hate to tell you but I've pretty much cut alcohol out completely. It doesn't agree with a new medication.
