Somebody is slacking this morning.

I'm sure there's still plenty of stale popcorn on the floor.

I'm a keyboard warrior because I'm sick of a certain cry baby whining that she misses Caleb. I need to shut her up.

Some of the comments bothered me too. I don't know why people feel it necessary to publicly cut down someone's work. Especially an amateur writer. Most of us were taught that if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. I'm looking forward to seeing who wrote what because I've given up trying to figure it out. I think I know one. That's all. I'd rather start stressing about the anthology. Two and a half months to figure something out and get it written. I have a few ideas. It's making one of them stick that's the issue. Right now I've got a bunch of things floating around my head with no one directing the traffic. Total chaos. Lol.

Don't you wish you could just crack open their brass balls with a set of brass knuckles? The sheer audacity of people. SMH.

Today started with some incredibly loud thunder boomers waking me up at 5am. Alarm is set for 5:30. You couldn't wait a half hour Mother Nature? 🤨 It cooled the air for all of a nanosecond and then all the moisture on the ground created a nice sauna for the rest of the day. Cia did a great job putting together the Secret Author contest. I read all the stories. A few were really difficult to get through (for various reasons, but that's just me). I really like these challenges. It gives me a chance to read something I may not have given a glance at otherwise. It also gives authors a chance to try new things, maybe a format or genre they haven't done before. As the word count is limited, it's a good way to test the waters without having to commit to anything in depth. It's just another reason why I'm glad I found this site. Have a good night everyone!

Trying to steal the limelight on someone else's story.... Go back to your own. You need the Cone of Shame.

I still have days where my pillow is the recipient of my wrath. You take your outlets where you can get them.

Kyan needed that emotional purge. Going through the stages of grief is not like sitting on a conveyor belt on an assembly line and you're building a new person who can live without their loved one. You don't collect the stages of grief in an orderly fashion and come out the other side all shiny and new. Everyone processes at their own pace. The kids will recover easier than the adults because they haven't developed the full scope of emotions yet. I think now Kyan knows it's okay to get frustrated or angry with your kids. There's not a single parent I know who hasn't screamed into a pillow or cried behind a closed door. Perry is the friend every parent needs when they're overwhelmed.

Mankind has been battling against the invisible enemy of viruses since we started walking upright. It's been uphill all the way. You're right though. Viruses like HIV/AIDS, coronavirus, ebola, herpes, papillomaviruses and a host of others are what has enabled researchers to study them and discover what makes them tick. The only way to treat viruses is to figure out what will work against them. They're not like bacteria. They don't go away with antibiotics. Once they are in you they're superglue and not going anywhere. Throw in the ability to mutate faster than Taylor Swift changes outfits and it's no wonder researchers can't keep up. I'm glad it looks like this company is getting close to a cure. Hopefully the pharmaceutical companies in the US won't keep the the cost of the drug out of reach for those who need it.

@rickproehl I hope you get on track towards getting well. Long-term health issues are hard to deal with. Getting old does suck. I'm discovering that myself. So yes, tim is right, pop on here anytime you need to. @Mikiesboy I'm sure you'll find plenty to keep you occupied. In addition to a clean house, I see a fully stocked freezer & pantry, plenty of cute crocheted animals and two happy Sirs. Enjoy. Happy Saturday!

I agree... groceries are insane. I look in the cart and wonder how 1/4 full can add up to almost $100 with no meat. Congrats on being able to give your notice and quit! I know how much you and Mike and Dan have been looking forward to it. That means congratulations to @MichaelS36 on your new job! I still have to juggle times and days for appointments. Normally W/Th/F are good as my husband is off. Except when they go and schedule him for mandatory overtime, which they did for next Wednesday. Of course that's the day I was finally able to get an appointment for my hip. So now I can A) cancel and wait another 4-6 weeks, try to find a ride to Sarasota, or C) shell out $50 for an Uber there and back. I think I'm going to try to find a ride. I really can't deal with another month of being in too much pain to sleep. Eh... it'll work out. Have a good weekend everyone!

Dashel certainly got the short end of the stick in life. He reminds me of Drew Barrymore in Firestarter . She was one badass little kid. I actually think I might know who this one is so I'll reserve my comments for the review after the reveal.
