@rickproehl I hope you get on track towards getting well. Long-term health issues are hard to deal with. Getting old does suck. I'm discovering that myself. So yes, tim is right, pop on here anytime you need to. @Mikiesboy I'm sure you'll find plenty to keep you occupied. I agree... groceries are insane. I look in the cart and wonder how 1/4 full can add up to almost $100 with no meat. Congrats on being able to give your notice and quit! I know how much you and Mike and Dan have been looking forward to it. That means congratulations to @MichaelS36 on your new job! I still have to juggle times and days for appointments. Normally W/Th/F are good as my husband is off. Except when they go and schedule him for mandatory overtime, which they did for next Wednesday. Of course that's the day I was finally able to get an appointment for my hip. So now I can A) cancel and wait another 4-6 weeks, try to find a ride to Sarasota, or C) shell out $50 for an Uber there and back. I think I'm going to try to find a ride. I really can't deal with another month of being in too much pain to sleep. Eh... it'll work out. Have a good weekend everyone!

Dashel certainly got the short end of the stick in life. He reminds me of Drew Barrymore in Firestarter . She was one badass little kid. I actually think I might know who this one is so I'll reserve my comments for the review after the reveal.

I have to admit, I needed to let this one process for a little while. It was hard reading through the graphic description of torture. But in the end, the author did a great job of building a society and characters that readers can emphasize with. While I'm not a huge fan of violence or torture in a story, the only thing that really makes me stop reading (or watching a movie) is when they kill the dog. Then I'm out of there. I can see this chapter developing into a more intricate story and expanding into a larger world. Good work SA.

There will always be those people whose sole purpose in life is to be miserable. I know a few and because they are family, I limit my interactions with them. On a lighter note.... I'm wearing a pair of Christmas leggings for pajama pants. Why? Because I can. 😁

I agree. There are many times I've read something here and either the writing or the content is just not good. I can't find it in myself to criticize anyone in the comments. A few chapters into my first story I had someone message me and basically tell me I had no business writing and posting such crap. I almost stopped because of that. I'm not gonna lie... it hurt. But, I saw that others were posting positive comments so I merely thanked the person for their opinion and told them to stop reading. To this day I still question everything I write, always wondering if it's any good or not. Try not to be discouraged. There are plenty of members who aren't negative. Or... at least I hope so! Speaking of writing, I think I'm finally past my writer's block. I have a story to finish and I hear my laptop calling me.
