Alaskan Adventures (How To Get Stuck on a Zipline)
kbois commented on kbois's blog entry in Escaping for just a little while
I am so happy we went. Even if we had to drink swill. Lol. The residents have all been very appreciative. All of the extra maintenance guys and upper managers are gone. It's finally nice and quiet. Now it's time to catch up on all the regular stuff. Next on the bucket list is hopefully Norway and cruising the fjords. My husband suggested we try to take the kids, so it'll be a couple of years before that happens. New Zealand is my #1 dream destination. I'm thinking of making it my goal for my 60th birthday. Six years should be enough time to save up. I need business class for that kind of flight. Thanks for reading my recap of adventures! -
Thanks for reading! I did some research and read a few accounts from some non-binary people and what it means to them. It put things into a better perspective and gave me some thoughts to draw on. It's difficult to write about something you are completely unfamiliar with. Challenging, but rewarding. I'm glad you liked it.

It was worth screwing the budget. -
I can see where starting this right before bedtime might be an issue. Society has come a long way in its views regarding the LGBTIA+ community. Still needs work, but getting better. Mental Health has, in my opinion has improved in some ways, but at the same time regressed tremendously. They've made strides in diagnosing and treating many issues. The biggest problem lies in the difficulty getting treatment. Most states closed the majority of their "mental" hospitals in the 80s, releasing the patients without having a good plan. There's still no real solution for those who need long term care. Add on the addiction crisis, which often ties in directly with mental health issues and it's no wonder there is such a massive problem. It sucks when insurance companies get to dictate someone's care. Thanks for reading and don't forget to recommend if you haven't already. Reviews are always appreciated too.

For that dangling carrot..... yes indeed.

Yes, I would. Probably. Maybe.

Things are finally settling down and clean up from the hurricane has gone extremely well. It's been really stressful though. The park I manage has a lot of damage, but thankfully most of it is minor to moderate. We did have one home which is a total loss. She has no insurance and is planning on having the home torn down. We've had an extra dozen maintenance guys that came down from our northern properties to help with clean up. They put tarps on at least 20 homes that needed it plus removed awnings, taped windows, chopped up trees and limbs, plus anything else that needed to be done. They worked their tails off. Coordinating everything has been like trying to juggle while riding a unicycle. Difficult, but not impossible. I've never been so drained, mentally, physically and emotionally in my life. Last Friday and Saturday I had to do a complete walk around every home to document damage and I had two guys hauling a ladder around to inspect roofs. There are 234 homes. My feet and knees are still pissed at me. As much as I appreciate the help, I'm looking forward to everyone leaving tomorrow. I need peace and quiet. My vacation was amazing. Alaska is beautiful. We enjoyed Vancouver too. I posted a blog if anyone is interested. It was quite the adventure. I hope everyone has a good day!

The ziplining was a lot of fun. Looking back, I can now appreciate the hilarity of getting stuck. I do feel like I need another vacation! -
I was the one who suggested it. At the time it seemed like a good idea 🤷♀️ Despite the abject terror, it was a lot of fun. I regret nothing.

Caleb's gonna do what Caleb's gonna do. She's got no say.

I'm glad to hear you are ok. Ian did a number on a huge part of the state. I know a few people who were in the Ft Myers area during the storm. They're OK but one if them lost everything. Our clean up is going well. I've got a great crew and they've been busting their asses. Vacation was awesome. I posted a blog yesterday with some details if my adventures and misadventures lol.

I can't get the link to work for the pictures. No catfight in Seattle. We only got within a 5 hour drive of each other. When given no choice... you jump.- 30 comments

Time for decompression. No... not whiskey. Celebrity Jeopardy! Just to be reminded how clueless I am.

I know that abnormal is the norm with this group. But in my "real" life I really need some semblance of my normal routine. I was on the verge of a breakdown today. I'm okay now, but I was close to a breaking point earlier. Disasters suck.

If all goes well and all the extra people I've have around for the past week leave on Friday like they're supposed to, I'll be able to post on Saturday and then go back to normal. I need normal right now. It's been a helluva week!
