This says it all; I know Loren is busy. I will not rain on his parade. If he’s too busy, then so be it. If he needs help with anything, then we’re here for it. Worst-case scenario, I spend a week with my best friend and his two dads. Jay has realized he needs to let Loren be Loe for this week. He wants to stay and Seamus gave him a reason to bail on his family. They can't blame Loren for keeping Jay away. Besides, I'm hoping Lowen won't be able to resist the Spudmeister once he knows he's in town!

Awesome chapter. Finally a sincere and much needed heart to heart. Communication between them has really improved and it's so good for their relationship. Can't wait to see how things go from here!

I was bit by a toy poodle when I was a kid. Never was fond of them after that. That is...until we got Camden who's part poodle. Love my little guy. He'll be 13 in a week, still tries to act like a puppy.

The company I work for owns a house right in front of the park next door to mine. It's not a mobile home. It's 3br/2ba and the tenants moved out in February. I told my supervisor that I might be interested depending on what the rent would be, hoping to save $200-$300 a month, plus gas not having to commute. I found out they'll let us have the house for $500 under market value which means we'll be saving $1000 a month on rent Not just happy.... ecstatic! Granted the trade off is losing about 700 Sq ft, but I really don't care about having a big house. Less to clean. Plus, I gave him a wish list of what I'd like done to the place and in addition to what was already needed (new siding, fencing, back steps, new tub and a few other things) he authorized spending $10K on what I want. So new floors and vanities for the bathroom and hopefully a shed for the back and new counteracts for the kitchen. I'm so excited! Hope you start feeling better!❤

I think I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you on this one. Is Loren selfish? Yes. And rightfully so, but his motives are not. I think I may have said this in an earlier chapter, or maybe just mentioned it to Mrs. G. Loren has been fending for himself nearly all his life. Abandoned by his biological family at 7 years old. SEVEN, not seventeen. He started marketing himself at 14. In his world things have revolved around him in good ways and bad ways for more than half his life. Any self-made business person will tell you. Being in business for yourself almost forces you to be selfish. By selfish I mean putting the business you created first. Especially when other people's livelihoods depend on you. He has to be selfish in order to brand himself properly in order to succeed in order to make sure his team are provided for. So is it really selfishness or selflessness? Jay came at him with a monster truck full of his family values and jumped right on over Loren’s valid rebuttals Dukes of Hazzard style. It's no wonder Loren needs a time out.

I personally like: I’m not sure I heard him correctly. “My brother Lars?” “No, Lars Christian Anderson.” He looks at me and rolls his eyes. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Roller-coaster of a chapter! This one brings on the good, the bad and the ugly of any relationship. I love Jay. Not as much as Mrs. G. loves JJ Watts. But in this chapter I've got to call him out. He's an idiot. Jay really needs to pull his head out of his ass and realize his idea of family and happiness does not line up with everyone else's. Family means so many different things to so many different people. Let's face it... the family you're born into is not always the best choice to stick with, just because. I have a big family. The majority of which I tolerate because they're, well, family. There's a small handful that I actually look forward to seeing. Then there's a few that I would throw off the nearest 500 foot cliff without hesitation. Jay needs to learn this lesson. Loe needs a hug.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. YES!! Probably my favorite thing you've written so far. Bertie is real. His fears are real. His image of himself is real. His self doubt is real. This story had me smiling the whole way through. I see myself in Bertie. Doesn't matter if you carry ten extra pounds or a hundred and ten. You feel judged everywhere you go. Kudos to Bertie for facing his nemesis- body image! You nailed his emotions and reactions perfectly. Cecil is amazing. Cracked me up the way Bertie twisted his words and he let it roll off him like a duck. I've had the exact same reactions as Bertie. Many times. Struggling with weight issues is a life long battle for many of us. You did a great job with this tim. Thanks! P.S. Nice to see you writing again.

I just spent close to 3 hours at Urgent Care. Idiot me fell last night. No reason other that I was stupid. Did something I shouldn't have and went straight down onto my bad knee, plus whacked the other one but good. Luckily nothing is broken. Big old contusion and orders to take it easy until I can maneuver without pain. No gym for a week. I'm pissed about that more than anything. *sigh* It hurts. I'm glad I don't have to deal with snow.

That's because the original title of the chapter was supposed to be Ninety-nine cents. Because I guessed it, someone had to change it. She was butt hurt cuz I was in her head. She yelled at me to get out. 😒

I'll give him the page out of my playbook I used for my older son. Him; 2.5 years old. Me: when are you going to start using the potty? Him: when I'm three. Babysitter: (tries every bribe imaginable) when are you going to start using the potty?? Him: when I'm three. (this is a repetitive conversation over the next 6 months.) The morning of his third birthday: Me: (hands him underwear) You're 3 today. No diapers. Him: (after a look of incredulity that I'm calling him out on it.) Okay Mommy. One accident. (Granted he was in pull-ups at night until he was 7 or 8 cuz the kid has a bladder the size of flea and sleeps like a log) And all my friends said potty training was a bitch. 🤔🤣😆

Seriously.... I don't drink that much. But considering my current status of totally fu*ked up knee had nothing to do with alcohol, (Well, maybe just a smidge) it's a wonder I can walk at all today. Might be an x-ray in my immediate future with a fabricated story of why I fell. Oy.

So funny thing happened yesterday when I was going thru this. This.... Every person in the group is eating out of his hand like housebroken bunnies, In my addled brain turned into this; 'Every person in thr group is eating out of his hand like broken house bunnies. 🤣🤣 Now I can't get that weird image out of my head! Loved the chapter. Mostly feel good. They still have to face the double standard thing a bit more. They'll get there. Training camp:
