Words of wisdom from She Who Edits. 😁

$100,000? Maybe it was a BOGO? But seriously...Their parents definitely made mistakes, but it's up to Kyle and Megan to decide what, if any, future relationship can be had or if it can be repaired..
-
Good point.... and definitely a possibility.

It was intense to write. These kind of chapters drain me mentally. Kim and Megan are..... complicated. It's not a cut and dry sort of relationship where the long lost mom and daughter fall into each other's arms sobbing at the reunion. (So, yeah, nooo... that ain't gonna happen). They're story will play out later and in the epilogue... which I haven't written yet.

Don't cut yourself short... I think we're pretty well matched. (Still up for a collaboration?)

I will check these out. Thanks Reader! He won't have much problem with the diet change. The biggest issue is coffee. On the rare occasion where he's gone without for a day, he gets a massive headache, so the caffeine withdrawal will suck for him. Most of the foods that he shouldn't eat are the more acid ones like citrus, tomatoes, spicy food and weirdly mango and papaya (which he loves). We've already pretty much eliminated fried, fatty food and cut way back on dairy such as milk and cheese. He's not a big alcohol drinker either. Most meats and fish are good. I need to expand my seafood recipes. I just wish good fish wasn't so expensive! I'm not giving up on my spices though, so now when I cook I'll have to make a non-spicy version of whatever it is for him.

Don't forget.... the evil doctor worked for a legitimate fertility clinic. Even Kyle's parents went through the application process. Now I'm not saying that everyone did or didn't know thing were or weren't on the up and up.... just sayin. 🤭🤫

Most of the parents did believe the adoptions were legit.

Me too, cuz that would totally suck!

Jett is very in tune and empathetic. I think part of it is the nature of his job and how he was raised. He's the people person that I'm not! Kyle and Megan will find out exactly what the circumstances were in a few more chapters.

Hmmm... that would be a riot.... a rogue fellow writer running amok in my storyline! Jett and Kyle do have some rough roads ahead. I need to find some good off-road tires for them!

I actually did write a version of Chapter 7 from Kim's POV. I really wasn't sure which way to go with it. @Mrsgnomie convinced me to keep Kyle's POV. Overall I think it works better for the exact thing that you mentioned. You can't begin to put yourself in Kim's place. I think by leaving her direct thoughts and feelings up to you guys, it makes for a better story. Your empathy (or lack of) is entirely up to you. Thanks for reading and commenting!

Well, hubby had his upper and lower GI tests done this morning. Of course everything looks fine. There was one polyp that was removed and sent out for testing. He has evidence of reflux. He's been given a list of foods to avoid. Pretty much everything he eats. Coffee was on the top of the list. Him quitting coffee is like a smoker with a 40 year history of two packs a day trying to quit. I ordered some stuff called Postum, which is an alternative to coffee as well as some chicory stuff to try. If anyone knows of anything else (tea is on the avoid list too) please let me know. Hope everyone is having a good day so far.

Kyle felt like the walls were closing in on him. What the fuck was he supposed to do now? He looked at Jett and immediately Jett came over and sat next to him, wrapping his arms around him as he started to shake. The repercussions of Kim’s bomb were going to be felt for a long time, he just knew it. As the thoughts in his brain ran amok, there was one thing that stood out. “How did you know I was adopted? I never told you and I just recently told Jett.” “Jett didn’t say anything to me

I did put June 21, 2021, 12N as the publishing time so I guess we sit back and wait! Thanks for the reminder to unclick the box. I probably would've missed it. Good luck!

I hope I did it right.🤔🤷♀️

Gabriel's eyes opened. Heat. All encompassing heat surrounded him. "Well what do we have here?" A deep, rumbling baritone washed over him, vibrating his senses like the purr of a big cat. He was being eyed, like prey. "Where am I?" he asked, blinking, trying to see into the heat that shimmered around him. "Where do you think you are?" Gabriel's eyes focused, but he doubted what he saw was real. A monster? Demon? Something not human came closer. It's skin shimmer

Let me know if it works.

You're not the only one who's confused. (Dazed maybe 🤭) To me it looks like a 2 step process. 1st post it to Stories - post dated. 2nd, copy and paste the link to the thread shown. But I'm not sure if post dating even creates a link? I've never done it before. 🤔

This is the week of bad things turning around into something good. After my continuing dissatisfaction with Walmart grocery delivery, I've been physically going to the grocery store and Amish market. I occasionally will order delivery from Aldi, which I did this morning from work. I set it up for delivery to my house after I got home. I got a text asking where to leave the groceries. After a couple of back and forths....figured out the driver was at my work. Initial WTF moment. He's 40 minutes away. I asked if I could just cancel the order. He then told me that he would bring the groceries to my house....15 miles away. Now that's proper customer service. Nice guy...and I did give him a really good tip. Hope everyone has a good evening!

Your timing is impeccable. I've been hanging out in a valley for a while on a story in a new genre (for me) I've been working on for quite some time. The ideas are there, I just haven't been able to corral them. You've given me some great tips which I'm going to try. Thanks for posting this!

Thanks! Kim manages pretty well most of the time. There's a reason why she's freaked out. (No, I'm not telling you yet.... next chapter.) I think no matter how things turn out she'll always be haunted by her past no matter how many steps forward she takes.
